I'm really into industrial music and i was just listening to NIN and they use some great digital guitar effects. Does anybody know any good pedals for this type of sound? I read that they use a Zoom 9030 but i really can't find anything on that pedal and what i have found, people say that they don't like it. Thanks guys

I like analog effects and I hate Zoom, so that might be what you're after. Another cool digital-like industrial-trick is DI, direct input, meaning you plug your (preferrably distorted) guitar signal straight into a PA system, mixing board, home stereo or most of the non-guitar-friendly amps. Don't use amp simmulation and it should be sharp and uggly. Try mixing that with Zoom when recording.

Do you know of any good equipment that would give me nice industrial effects? I can't find hardly anything on that Zoom 9030. Thanks

Sorry, I don't have enough experience with that. Let your ears be the judge and make sure you try a lot. A fuzzbox, perhaps?

Last I heard, Reznor ran his guitar tracks through a Mac workstation and tweaked the hell out of them there. To replicate this live, you'd need some sophisticated rack mount effects. We're talking processors WAY above the ZOOM's class... and price range.

But crazyguy is right, try different things, and let your ears tell you what sounds best.

I don't play a lot of industrial music but try a pixellator it scared the hell out of me, and it sounded kinda cool.
