Hi,

I wanted to gather the forum's wisdom on replacement Telecaster pickups. Like a lot of others, I'm a sucker for vintage Tele tone. Who makes the best reproduction of that sound? I've always had my eye on Seymour Duncan, but I know others really like Fender's reproductions and Lindy Fralin. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Different pick ups in all of them, the one in my 1970 is the original pickup. I have a Seymour Duncan Alnico 2 in my 93, and my 2001 has a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound. The Bendocaster tele that Forrest Lee Jr. built for me has a Joe Barden Danny Gatton T style bridge pickup in it.

As for the vintage sound of a tele, I love that too. Without finding an older pickup, I'm not sure which one would get you closest to that sound. If you go this route, remember they are wired differently.
