Taylor Acoustic Guitars

Can anyone explain to me why Taylor acoustic guitars have lower resale values than many other top of the line acoustic guitars? I noticed in the course of tracking several Taylor guitars at a popular online auction site that the Taylor guitars would consistently sell for far lower than other top name guitars, often selling for much less than half of the retail price. This was especially so with the top of the line models, such as the Taylor 810 series. Is this something peculiar to Taylor guitars or is this something indicative of acoustic guitar resale in general?
