Hi,

I am going to be launching a new site in a few days dedicated to guitar. I have made a fretboard trainer in javascript using google web toolkit. I'll be adding alot more as time permits (tuner, metronome and other goodies and lessons), but I thought I'd give the folks here at guitartricks an early look so I can get a few suggestions/reviews and what not on this particular application.

If you want to hear the sounds make sure you have flash installed as the backend uses flash for the sounds. But of course most people here probably have flash if they are watching the guitar vidz.

It's just hosted on my development site right now.
Here

Cheers and I hope you enjoy the app.

I didn't have much time to check it out this morning but I did use the fretboard trainer for a few minutes. That's really cool! I will be doing that for a while tonight. It seems like a pretty good way to get the note locations done quickly. :)

I think I was expecting more somehow. I've seen fretboard warrior some time ago, which seemed a little better presented...

But yeah, a good way to learn the 'board... :)

Hi Ren,

Thanks. I've just downloaded fretboard warrior. Pretty cool program.

I'm open to suggestions on how to improve the trainer. I think maybe I'll do something similiar on the correct answers and wrong answer. Maybe leave the lightbox alert on the wrong ones but still have some kind of visual.

Thanks for your time.

Just checked out the fretboard trainer. It looks good but I do agree that it could use a little more... sophistication, if you will.

You've grabbed a pretty good domain, though, I'll give you that ;).
