Hey ya'll.. I made it back after an extended stay away from home.

I set up the gear and wrote and finished recording this one yesterday.

If anyone has ANY thoughts I would love to hear them.

Be gentle, remember, I have low budget gear and cheap malt liquor..

nice song man...youve got a great voice.... Nice harmonizing and moody feel. Good use of effects, not overdone at all. I was waiting for it to break into a nice lead solo toward the end though...nothing too fancy, and in keeping with the overall mood of the song, either a guitar or sax..

Thanks my friend,.. appreciate the time and ear.

It's funny you mention having a solo at the end.. I find myself in a wierd paradox.. I spend all this time creating compositions, sounds and textures to play over (I actualy do play a lot of sax, but also guitars, keys, ukes etc etc) and by the time I have something to work with, I end up wanting to finish it so I can start on something else.. so I end up usualy compromising the very reason I started the tune in the first place.. arrrrrgh.. my bad!

Thanks again!

First off, I found your piece to have a very relaxing feeling (mellow). Your voice fit perfectly into the feeling of the music. I loved the depth in your voice.

I was a little surprized by the horns coming in so abruptly. (I thought they were horns)

Some advise...I am no expert, but I have written a little. be patient with your creativity. Don't leave your projects less than they could be. I wrote a song for my daughter when she was four, and I finally got it the way i exactly wanted it for her wedding at age 28.

You'll know when it's right.

Thanks for the thoughts.. While I understand what you are saying.. I am fairly prolific in my 'musical idea' dept.. but am a lousy engineer..

ALL my stuff is scratchpad.. just ideas tossed aroud about as randomly as the ideas themselves..

Part of it is me being musically ADD.. I tend to hurry through a piece so I can get started on the next idea..

_______

Someone else put it best.. but my stuff is like a 'postcard' vs a well written letter.

______

Thanks so much for taking the time!! Appreciate it!

I'm the same way, but to the point of not even being able to finsih anything. I absolutely cannot get myself to even record a whole song, with all the parts, I get a little ways in until I have a clear idea in my head and then completely lose interest. I do nothing but improvise all the time. I have stuff that I have riffs and ideas that i jam on occasionally but I can't get whats in my head into a recording... sucks.

I liked your song. It was mellow. Very pink floyd "meddle"-esque. nice.
