I thought it would be a nice idea to share your favorite guitars or model of guitar and also include what gear you have and maybe share some stories about your guitars.

My favorite guitar has to be the all time classic ' fender strat' but I currently own a Hohner (start copy) from the 80's which is exelent and I love and also has been with me through the best of times.... and hey only £130 ($260).

I love Strats also, and have 3. But I think I love my Tele more, probably for sentimental reasons. I just think Strats are so versatile. But since I've just gotten interested in metal, I can't get that metal sound that I can with my cheap Ibanez RG 320. But Fenders...timeless classic guitars.

Thanks a mil for your post :D

Im glad to hear you like strats and yes, I agree they are versitile but for metal the pickups are not high out put enough so If you want to make a strat for metal.... nothings stopping you putting EMG's on it :p

Cheers

Blasphemy! :) I like my Strats to look like Strats! Earlier this year, I got a Fender catalog from Guitar Center with a million different models. I checked out..I think it was a Strat Deluxe with H-S-H p/up configuration. It sounded as sweet as my 1984 American Strat. But just looking at the humbuckers....couldn't do it. The cost was around the $6-700 range. 'tween March and April of this year, I bought 2 MiM Strats off Ebay and the 2 cost me around $600 total. They are mint. All 3 sound and feel slightly different. I still hope to someday have a Strat in a tobacco sunburst finish. I think they look so cool.

Cheers!

My cheapo Squier strat still feels the best to me.

How do you guys play with the volume knob right below the pickup like that?
Like, seriously, every time I play strats, I get bashed up knuckles so I never use them. I love the sound... just move the stupid volume knob over a couple of inches.

I never play that close to the bridge, so it's not really an issue. I generally strum right above the neck pickup, or somewhere between the neck and middle ones.

Nice looking gitbox there, Buck. I think I may do a review on the MiM I got that was modded with Fender noiseless pickup, locking tuners, etc.

I like the volume knob where it is. I do volume swells with my pinky ala Roy Buchanan. Depending on the sound I'm trying to get, I kinda move around.

Quite contradictory to other's posts on this thread, I am a Gibson guy. My favorite guitar is the Gibson Les Paul. It feels the best in my hands. I haven't owned one as of yet though. Right now my main axe is an Ebony Gibson Explorer. I love it, don't get me wrong, it's just that the LP is the absolute best. I would not mind a Fender style guitar though. I am probably going to get an American Standard strat next.

Btw, my other guitars

-Epiphone Les Paul standard
-Ibanez RG320dxqm (Rare)
-Crappy Ibanez Gio
