Hello!

Hello! My name is Fuyu and I live in Northern California. I'm a new subscriber and I'm absolutely excited about all the things that I can learn here.

About my name, just to let you all know in advance-- it's not based on any bad words lol. I've had a few people on forums confront me thinking that I was planning to cause trouble on their boards since it looks like fu** y*u. It's actually Japanese for "winter", which is my favorite season and it's pronounced like the english "who" and "you".. so you'd pronounce it like "who you" with out the space in the middle. :D

I'm female.. and an ABSOLUTE beginner/newbie to guitar. I've been wanting to learn for the past 5 years, but I never got around to it. I'm mainly inspired through Japanese "visual" bands.. and I don't know if there is anyone on this site that is familiar with this type of music. One of my biggest inspirations is Miyavi. He made me interested in the guitar in the first place and I get stars in my eyes when ever I watch him play.

At the moment I have a Alpine M711 3/4 Size Children's Acoustic Guitar.. LOL! I'm an adult in my late 20's mind you! As hilarious, or ridiculous as that may be... until I get a real guitar (planning for next month), this is what I'm teaching myself to play with at the moment for at least the fundamentals (parts of guitar, how to tune, how to read tabs and so on) from the beginner lessons on this site. This guitar was given to my husband since we have a little child. She's still too young to play, so I've been fiddling around with it. LOL .. but I plan on buying an ibanez (GRG170DX) electric guitar next month.

Anyway, I hope to get to know you all and I look forward to expanding my knowledge here with all of you as well as getting good tips from the experts on this board. Thanks for reading!

Yes. I'm extremely absolutely brand newbie new. We all have to start somewhere.. unfortunately I'm at the very beginning. :D

I'm learning through this site. I just subscribed so I'm learning from the very beginning. :) It's very interesting! I'll get my first real guitar next month. I'm very excited!!

I'm sorry!! I don't use chat programs. I used to use them all the time before, but I'm not much of a chat person anymore. :(

n u???[/QUOTE]Wow that's great!! I really wish that I started two months ago.. or earlier. I actually wanted to start learning about 5-6 years ago but I've been super lazy!! I finally made it a goal to start learning this year. LOL unfortunately, it took 4 months to get started!! :o I actually only started to learn yesterday... hahaha

What type of music to you plan to get into once you've gotten used to playing? Any influences that got you into wanting to play?

Yes, I do think getting private lessons through a real teacher is a much better idea, because I can ask questions immediately.. or if I'm doing something wrong the teacher can immediately tell me but I'm a young parent, and wife so I can't do things as freely as I would if I were single without kids. :) My only option is to learn by myself when ever I'm free.

Mine are Japanese bands. hahaha I'm sure you wouldn't know who they were.. but mine are miyavi (during his indies), alice nine., girugamesh and shinkou shuukyou gakudan nogod :o

BTW, I edited my last post in reply to your other post that you made. You posted while I was replying so I didn't get to reply to that on time. hahaha - this is why you shouldn't treat a forum like a chat room. Just edit your posts and add on to them. :)
