we come to it at last. i have said screw my 2 year warrenty on my fender and have decided i want a better sound out of it.

i have been lokking at pick ups the last few days trying to get an idea of what i want and how i want it to sound. there are so many options that its hard to keep up. upgrading my leps pauls were easy gibson all the way but this is a bit harder.

what i need help with is findiing that tone for me. i know its hard for you to tell me what my sound is but i think well give it a try.

im am looking for a good FULL sound. with clear output clean overdriven and distorted. i would like the quitest possibble single coils without loosing that strat tone. i really need to thickest mids and clearest lows but also bright clear as a bell highs (if that can happen cause the stocks get muddy with a big muff). right now im really starting to get more and more into classic rock and the blues but i havent fully found my sound yet so i guess ill be trying to play every style.

right after i got this fender i was talking to a guitar guy and he recommended a set of lindy fralin blues specials or a set of fender 50's plus. now im not sure if i have every heard these pickups so i cant really make a desicion. looking at the lindy fralin website doesnt help much because they are very thin on info. i know all about fender vintage noiseless (i own a set for another strat copy) and am not impressed with them. i dont want to even consider active picks at this point because i dont want to cut in on the wood yet. so any ideas you can give might be really helpful if not to ulimate pickups.

Man, check out the YJM Dimarzio pups (Yngwie signature set) - they sounds pretty damn sweet - so much so I was even thinking of adding an Yngwie sig strat to my collection

Would you consider using a mix of pedals to get the sound you want instead of changing pups? It just seems to me you have a tall order there in what you want. What happened to the DiMarzio site? I could swear they used to give you a sound demo of their pickups.

I've heard good things about the Fender noiseless; at least you don't get the hum as you do on the older Fenders- but you've ruled that out. That's why I'm thinking maybe go the pedal route- may be overall cheaper.
