Hi there!
I had a similar problem a few years back. For me it was not only the pinky but also the ringfinger. It was sort of numb and somethimes felt like there was electricity inside. This can be some sort of nerve/muscle problem originating from several points along your arm or even shoulder and back. Do you have back problems, tense muscles or do you get a headace sometimes from sore muscles in your back and neck?
In my case i was so tense in my shoulders that my nerves where sort of squeezed and thus my pinky and ringfinger turned numb. As far as i know the nerves responsible for the pinky run through the gap between the two bones on your elbow - the spot that REALY hurts when you hit it - i´m sure you know the spot. Do you have pain in there as well from time to time?
I strongly recomment talking to a physician about this problem. You'll probably need to do some training and massage for you back and shoulders.
Keep in mind that when you play guitar you should be *relaxed*. Most guitarists tend to get all tensed up when playing - especially when playing stuff that is difficult for them. Some even stop breathing normally. When you play pay attention to relaxed shoulders and constant, normal breathing. Things will be alot easier then!
