Ive noticed it when it was plugged in. Now i have found that there is static when the guitar isnt even plugged in. I have no idea what would cause this since the guitar isnt plugged in. Some help would be appreciated..

My whole basement where I play, although furnished, becomes a giant forcefield of electricity at times. I have no idea what causes it or why, but all I know is that I went through a few months of being afraid to flip the light switch due to lightning bolt size shocks. The little screws above and below the switch... DEADLY! Well... now everything is fine, but I didn't DO anything, so who knows.

Dust.. Moisture.. Dust.. Moisture.. Dust.. Moisture...

Hrmm that's all I can think of right now.. :p

Check your leads, check your connections, check your potentiometers etc.. it's usually something to do with moisture and/or dust.
