hi,

just lately ive ordered a pair of M-Audio BX 5a sound monitors and a M-Audio Firewire solo external..........do you think there good for an economical setup.....rather for a hobbiest.......what else do you think can improve the output of the two?

Hmmmm......I guess you could try a small mixer. It really depends on what you are recording. What are you recording? Acoustic, Electric, do you have an amp or maybe a digital FX pedal there are alot of variables at play.

okay so lets just say i need to plug in a semi acoustic and a vocal mic......we can keep the fx thingy out for the time being........so how important is a mixer....i mean as far as im concerned i dont need to record drums where we get this good number of mic inputs coming in.....do i then still need a mixer and if at all it is inevitable so whats the most reasonable mixer (price and performance wise)??? lets just say for me an 8 channel mixer is more that enough.

Well, the firewire solo has a guitar input and a mic input so I don't think you would need anything else at the moment.
