I was just wondering if there are some 'older' rockers that you want to see while you have a chance. There are a few that come to mind for me.

John Prine

CSN

David Gilmore

Willie Nelson

Eric Burdon

Alvin Lee

Johnny Winter

..etc

I've seen a lot of the older ones already but the ones above are still on the list. I'm just curious what you guys think.

Not too extremely old, but I would do anything to see Clapton again. (yeah, I saw him w/ trucks. Lucky me :D )

I know what you mean. I've seen Clapton like 5 times. He's an amazing musician. My favorite though was on his 'From the cradle' tour. All blues. It was just terrific.

I would totally go see Johnny Winter.

And I've already seen CSN. Meh. It's nice to be able to say that I've seen them, but, honestly, they've just aged so much. Their voices are more or less shot to hell.

Yeah, I agree. I would see CSN just to say that I did. As far as Johhny Winter, I have had to work both times that he has been here in the past year. Pi**es me of royally. I guess his health is not very good although better these days he still has to sit when he plays and has to be helped on and off the stage. I think I'll make sure I get there next time.

Oh MAN. How could I forget. Well, not that its what it used to be, but I would love to see the Allman Brothers. Yes, I have a Derek Trucks fetish. If you really must know. Unfortunately, the rents scheduled a family trip the exact same week as when they come to Boston.

Saw CSN back in '92 as well. Not that they were bad, not at all, but looking back now I can't say it was too memorable. Stills on the electric was prolly the highlight for me anyway.
Yet within that same year or two I saw Neil Young. He rocked out most of the entire set! I was expecting a lot of Harvest Moon and others like "Old Man", but he only played 2 or 3 acoustic songs...the rest he banged out on a Les Paul, with Booker T. and the MG's as the backing band. I remember he broke a string during one of his extended "leads".

I still would like to see Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. And I was gonna go one time a few years back, but lawn seats were like 70 or 80 bucks a piece...ridiculous.
Also Mark Knopfler would be nice. Preferably in Dire Straits form of course.

Shamefully, I can't say I've ever seen Willy. My only excuse is I never really appreciated him till my wife made me listen to him. And I still can't stand most country music for long, but he's one of a kind for sure. Obviously he's around Austin, Houston, San Antonio all the time...so really, there's no excuse. I owe it to myself to check him off the list sometime though.
