Weird guitar...

I started playing guitar when I was about 11 back between '99 and 2000. I completed a complimentary 6 week course at a school down here at the end of which is the expected "Okay, you've tied one of our instructors up for 6 weeks, now shell out or get lost." So my parents signed a contract and I took lessons there for about a year before breaking my arm (self taught after this point :\ ). However, when we signed the contract what came with it was a really nice Jackson guitar with a Floyd Rose system on it. At 11 all I knew was that it was shiny and it beat the hand-me-down acoustic they gave me to practice with at home. From what I can remember the manual and warrantee pamphlet called it a Jackson "Beast". In the last year I've yet to find a Jackson "Beast" anywhere. To me it resembles a Dinky, but it has Duncan Design pickups; two humbuckers at the bridge and neck positions....and a single coil between them. 5 position switch, one tone knob, one volume knob. What model guitar is this? I've been sifting through hundreds of pictures and adds and catalogs looking for this guitar. My guess is that it was modified before I bought it, but I have no way of knowing, and I'm honestly no expert in guitar styles. Any thoughts?

does it say beast on the headstock?? the only beasts I know of is the B C Rich Beast and the Epiphone beast.....and they look nothing like a dinky... my guess is that it is a dinky and the book described it as a "beast"

Yea, see what it says on the headstock and truss rod cover, other than that, type the serial number in google.

I'll give it a shot. The thing that surprises me most though is the pickup positions. I've been looking for a Jackson with humbuckers at the bridge and neck position with a single coil between them and haven't come close to finding anything like it. I'll run the serial number through Google again. I checked it out once on the Jackson website but the range of numbers which my guitar falls under was absent from the list. I'll put some pictures up if I can in my next post.

There is one with the pickup layout like he's talking about. I don't know much about Jacksons however, so this is the extent of my knowledge (Except I played a Dinky once in a music store and it was like I turned into Glenn Tipton right there)

you turned into Glenn Tipton? That must have sucked!
