Introducting myself

Hello every one!

I'm i-vis: a guitar player from Brazil. (sorry if I made some english mistakes :)

I'm not the kind of musician that thinks that speed, 3.000.000 notes and super EGO answers are the way to make music.
To me music is felling, written in a different language. There are a few people that can write in this way.
Belive, I was a shredder (I used to play some Cacophony and Jason Becker stuff...). So, I became older....and started to think about DO music. Why (normal) people like more ENYA than Michael Angelo's?
Because they can do people feel something (good or bad). That's what I'm think when playing now. I can play fast, I can play arpeggios and other tech stuff...But build a melody that can do people become happy or sad is the ULTIMATE CHALENGE!!!

Although I must say, I'm all out of rose pedals. Welcome i-vis, this is a great site filled with many surprises that will increase your enthusiasm with the guitar in more ways thasn you can imagine.

Welcome brother to the forum... i saw a photo of you when i listend to the "past and future" paino doohiki, either you've got a little guitar, or you're one tall Motherfu- (shut you' mouth), ...i was only talking about I-vis (we can dig it)...ahem... anyway, this is a great forum with a couple of guitar gurus around to help with techniques, and some people to help out with any question to do with gear/ electronics etc (anything technical basically)...

Just share some of my gear:

guitar: DiCastellis Custom made guitar (a great brazilian luthier) - tech stuff: all parts are GOTOH, Seymour duncan Vintage Pro pickups at neck and middle positions (simulate Fender old pickups...very cool); a JB-trembucker at the bridge, A switch that turn half of the dual pickup off, so it sound like a single coil, 24 frets .. neck in MARFIM (like a brazilian MAPLE) . The body is MOGNO.

I use Dunlop 2mm picks as 0.9 Daddario strings, tunned in D (yeah...it's a little weird, but I like the song, and it's great for wide vibratos.)

AMP - just a small 30W Marshall Valvestate.

FX - my babe, a Digitech RP-20.

A PMA-5 portable sequencer, for fun.

a KORG NS5R for use in PC, to arrangemets.

PC: a AThlon 1Gb...500 MB of RAM.

pffft... 1 meter 96... by bother's friend is (6ft 9 so what's that?... 180 + (9 X 2.5) = 1 meter 98) 1 meter 98 cm... i know it's not much diference, but it helps keep him a ledgend... Saying that, I'm oly 1 meter 67 (that's about 5ft 7)... so I'm a pretty short fellow, but i can lift more than doulbe my wieght (i'm 82kg, and i've lifted 170kg... i'm just showing off now)... Anyway, I noticed you're tall cos I saw a photo of my self holding a guitar, and it looks huge on me, but you look like your holding a toy guitar. Do you use guitars with a longer fret length (cos I'm assuming you've got bigger hands)?

I´m begining to play that terrible songs of cacophony and company (jason is great!!).But I´m still looking for the speed.
