How pissed off I am right now, I just heard, that I am pretty much being kicked out of my apartment for "suspected drug dealing" and apparently, they're accusing me of breaking into garages here. This is stupidest crap i've ever heard, they told me they have cops watching me, I'm glad! I want to go to the cops myself, but i'm not sure if these apartments are breaking any laws, I thought it was illegal to accuse someone of something like this, I'm not sure though, so i don't know what I can do... I just needed to vent this out, and I might not be able to use my computer for awhile, which'll mean I won't be here anymore. If anyone here is a lawyer, you can help me out...ha.

but, here is the detail i'm not sure about, this isn't my apartment, I live here with my sister and dad, my sister is the one on the lease, and me and my dad have to leave... This is serious bs.

Weak dude. Get a sleazebag attorney ASAP. My bro's a lawyer, but he lives in Ft. Lauderdale.

Yeah, call around to attourney offices and see which ones offer free consultations... that way you can get in and talk to them and see if you have a case without spending a ton of money... If you do have a case, chances are you can sue them for however much the court costs are and however much money it will cost you to move and relocate...

Edit: I just now read the part about you not being on the lease..... and that might be why they're making you leave... If you're not on the lease you're not a legal resident there...

Yeah, that's what I wasn't sure about. I just heard more too, I don't drink really at all, I will once in a blue moon, but anyone can vouch I never actually get drunk, and they're also accusing me of walking around the apartment halls yelling drunk, and peeing in front of doors. If that would be anyone here, it would be my downstair neighbors who always drink in they're garage blaring music all night.. but they accuse me. Apparently I have to leave today too.

edit: Another thing I was thinking, how can they just kick me out with no proof of any of this obviously, because it's all abunch of lies.

I don't know about United States Laws, but here in Canada we have what is called a Tenancy board to help protect tenants from sleezball landlords. I would check with your local gov't agency to see if there is a tenancy board in your State and what your rights are as a tenant.

I wouldn't voluntarily leave until you have had a chance to consult with a lawyer or representative from the tenancy board.
Great works are performed, not by strength, but by perseverance.

This is a serious infringement of your rights. First things first, call an attorney. Now. They may be able to force you out since you're not on a lease but they cannot make boundless accusations and slanderous comments like that. Do your neighbors know what you're being accused of? If so, that's slander. I might mention that to the landlord. Ask him for his proof. Where's his evidence? Have the cops actually been watching you? Do you know any cops? If you do, ask them. If you're clean, you wouldn't have anything to worry about. One question though; is everyone who lives there clean? (No offense but that's just one of those things you have to think about) You don't want to call attention to the situation if there's a possible problem.

Hang tough. Don't be afraid to fight. If you've done nothing wrong, stand tall.

I want to talk to a lawyer, or atleast the police to find out if they're breaking any laws.

But, I can't see how this is legal, they told me they have the cops watching me or something, if they were watching me, and had proof of this, they would have already arrested me.

First off, the cops don't work for your landlord. He can't have them 'watching' you. He could have called in a 'tip' or something but he can't call them and ask them to watch you. That's total Bravo Sierra. Sounds like he found out you're not on the lease so he wants you out. If he intimidates you, you'll go without issue. You have to watch though that your sisters lease doesn't have provisions about non-lease holders in her apartment. Would hate to see him have cause to boot her. Get a copy of your sisters lease and take a look.

Good idea to call a lawyer. I might not move per se today, but you and your Pop may want to stay with friends for a day or so until you can get counsel.

I agree with you Hunter, I called a lawfirm, there was noone there for me to talk to at the time, but I talked to the secertary and she told me that it sounded like complete bs pretty much like I said, and she told me to call back or get ahold of someone else. I also heard, that they won't even allow me to sign onto the lease, my dad can, but I can't, that is something else that just sticks out as bs.

I found out also, they're saying I broke into these garages, they have a piece of paper downstairs saying it happened the 12th sometime during the night, which is kind of obvious, but I don't even stay here at night, I leave by 7-8 everynight over to my girlfriends house, with my newborn son. He was born 2 and a half weeks ago almost, i've been there with my son, every night. I have a half dozen people who can testify that as well.

I just need to talk to a lawyer, and see what they say about it all.

Bro... never let them see your nickname in GT... they are going to say some BS like..."see that? told you this guy was connected" :D

Just a small prank bro... no harm intended... man get that lawyer as soon as possible, that's some serious acussation, and they are wrong... so that is a crime too (difamation?... dunno the word, is when people make false acussations...) and now they are in trouble... you have the upper hand... and yo can get them into trial for that... moving from that place is your best choice... imagine.. you win the argument.. and?... stuck living with those loosers... naaaa... you don't need that crap bro.

Just one thing more... the day before you move... play with your biggest amp as loud as you can (I recomend some pantera for the matter)... just to break them balls.

Rock on bro...
Power corrupts. Absolute power is kinda neat.

Hey Bro, My advice would be not to spend any money on Legal Representation. Without being on the lease, you don't have a leg to stand on, that is if you are over 18 years old. That's why the Law Firm you contacted didn't have anyone available once you were screened by a Paralegal. The Landlord will more than likely have a stipulation in the Lease agreement giving them the right to evict anyone not stated in the Contract and may have you Lawfully escorted from the premises. If it gets to that point, your Sister may be liable to pay the legal fees burdoned by the Landlord for breaking the Lease agreement and you could get an eviction clause on your record.
I'm sure the accusations against you by the Landlord are to legally protect them with the "Right for Refusal" by not adding you to the Lease, avoiding any act of discrimination by probable cause.
Sorry for all this to happen, especially with a new baby, but I would move immediately Bro, before things get ugly.
