Couple fights to name baby 'Metallica'

I could see naming your kid this if it was pre-black album! :p

Haha, people these days. I can understand naming it Kirk or James after one of them, but the band name itself come on. That being said, they have the right to name their child whatever they want.

Though Slayer Creta has a nice ring to it.

Just make (pre-black album) it's middle name. Make sure to include the paranthesis.

Oh my God..... that is hilarious.

True story though... I played baseball with a kid who's last name was Forrall and I told him if he has a daughter he HAS to name her Anne Justice. haha. That would be sweet.

Metallica would be the most ridiculous name ever though.

I like the idea of a son of mine named Saxon! Of course, he would end up having all of his friends call him Sax. Then he would want to learn the sax and, well, I would rather he pick up a guitar....

Okay, the heck with it. I'm naming my imaginary son Strat. Or maybe just Fender. Ohh wait, I could call him Muddy ... or how about Howlin' Wolf? Maybe Lightning or Gatemouth.... :D

As usual, you guys are missing the real story here!

Some ****-for-brains government-appointed putzes are taking it upon themselves to decide what names parents are 'allowed' to give their children! I'd be telling the tax-department poop-chute suckers to return the cheque if they didn't like the name on it.

Governments have no business intruding on the lives of their citizens.

Yea they could be like us Americans and name your kid what ever you want. God knows we have folks here that has taken that freedom to the fullest extent. My wife work s for Social Security... she help people get there S.S. number, file for retirement, and get "Da Check". She has come home with some of the wildest names I have ever heard of. As far as im concerned Metalica is nothing compared to what it could be.
A man isen't measured by how far he has traveld in life, but how he made the jurney. ;)

I agree with LATS' view on this issue. Taste should never be legislated.

Neither should morality. The legislature in this country adopted, many years ago, the view point that the American people are incredibly stupid and need to be protected from everything and told what to think on every issue. We have hit the point in this country where it is a crime and a sin to fend for ourselves. We are told that we are incapable to discerning the truth or the correct actions for ourselves. We are being led blindly to the abattoir and one day, sooner than you think, your government will be knocking on your door and leading you away because you dared try to have your own thoughts.

Orwell was off by about twenty years. If you don't believe me, take a look at the Patriot Act. That was your governments bloody handprint on a piece of legislation that says 'If we think you're up to something, and even if we don't, we're going to watch anything and everything you do." Check out the NSA. They monitor everything. (Hi ya fellas...how are ya?)

Sorry to stray from the topic at hand but I urge all of you, especially the youngsters, to read, vote and stay involved. It's your future. Build it the way you want it.

The UK is no better. We now have CCTV cameras with operators shouting at you to put trash in the cans provided. I ask you? We are the most watched nation on earth... Thinking for yourself is a risky business....

If only that were true. We're a global community now. We all matter because they think none of us do. :o
