I really like guns N' Rosses. I'm learning sweet child o' mine now. If anybody else likes em too, feel free to reply!

Pretty much everyone likes GNR dude. And every guitarist is required to learn the intro to Sweet Child O' Mine. Its pretty much in the same category as Stairway as far as guitar goes.

I didn't learn Sweet Child of Mine :p . I learned Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This.)

But yea, GNR rocks, though Axl is a jerk.

Where I come from (Indiana)... You're required to like 3 bands: John Mellencamp (He's from Seymour, IN)... Blind Melon (Shannon Hoon, lead singer was from Dayton, IN)... and Guns N Roses (Izzie Stradlin and Axl Rose are from Lafayette, IN)...

So everyone here is pretty much raised to love those bands.

You either sit down and learn that tonight, or you're considered dead to me...especially with that song you chose to learn instead of Sweet Child O mine. :p

Hey, I'm sorry, but the Mason version of that song is awsome, if you don't like Mason, give your respects to John 5.

I'm a huge G'N'R fan! Appetite For Destruction is the best album ever recorded in my opinion. I couldn't care less about the nu G'N'R, though. Axl is a douche that should just let go of the past and move on.

I'm definitely not a GNR fan (*anticipates untimely demise*), but there's no denying the greatness of Slash. Far and away one of the best players of the Eighties.

I just about have the intro to Sweet Child of Mine. I would like to learn the solo because it is my favorite of all time, but I know it's going to be almost impossible to learn.

The best thing you can do to learn it is to sit down and try... Challenging yourself is the best thing you can do in art, music, and life. Even if you don't learn it entirely now... you've atleast tried and you learned some of it. Slash's solos will teach you quite a bit about how to play very nice sounding solos without playing all over the place. His note selection is incredible and he doesn't use a lot of weird scales or fast runs or anything... It's mostly how he bends, does vibrato, or his timing that makes his solos sound so good. Very David Gilmour'ish in that sense...

So give it a try... Sit down for an hour or two and try to hammer it out. If it were easy, everyone would do it... haha
