Hearing tests

The above link has three tests, to check if you are tone, pitch, or rhythm deaf. Take the tests and let the rest of us know how you do! I took each twice, just to make sure. ;)

Here are my results:

Pitch test: "At 500 Hz, you can reliably differentiate two tones 2.4 Hz apart."
That's rated as 'normal' on the little legend thing, and it puts me in the 58th percentile. I took it twice, because the first time I kinda rushed through it, but I got the same score on the second one.

Tone test: The first time I got 83.3% correct, even though it said "Even excellent musicians rarely get above 80% correct!" The second time, I got 75% correct. I guess that puts me somewhere between the 46th and 79th percentiles.

Rhythm test: First time 84%, second time 88%. That puts me somewhere between the 84th and 92nd percentiles.

*warning, by the way: the answers are given at the end of the tone and rhythm ones, so if you want to retake them, be sure to look away!*

Schmange man, as I was doing the pitch test I actually thought to myself "I bet schmange would do really good on this." 0.6 Hz is insane.

The pitch test was my favourite. The clips in the tone test were too long in some cases, by the time they played the second clip I'd forgotten the first one.

I put my dad to the test.....he surprisingly did better than me on the pitch test. He got 1.452 Hz or something. But he got in the 60s for the other two, so I still win. :)

My brother did them too. The first time he did the pitch one he did so hilariously awful. He was in the 1st percentile or something.

Those were pretty interesting. The pitch one was cool because it was quick, the other two were kinda slow for my taste. The pitch one was a great exercise I thought. I got like 3.3hz first, but after a few more tries, I got it down to 1.125hz. 70% on tone and 80% on rhythm, but I didnt bother redoing those.
