So very early this morning I found inspiration for lyrics/music based on my famous past of developing premature crushes on females and/or trying to get them into a relationship before really even knowing them. Now, to save myself some humiliation, this hasn't happened in probably 4 or 5 years now, but I did have a sad history of that. Silly kids....

This is the first song I've done vocals in. I'm not a great singer but I can carry a tune anyways, so I'd say its sufficient.

Anyways, heres the link to my page and its obviously the top song: Confessions of a Stalker

And here are the lyrics I came up with.

Observing her closely from a distance
Her every move intriguing me
Its sad that she is not aware of my existance
But thoughts of her seem to set me free

My heart is jumping from my chest up to my head
Studder, trip, and fall on my face
And now I think that I'd probably be better off dead
But she keeps me coming back to this place

Its a strange obsession
A weird infatuation
This is my confession
Perhaps a revelation
Can't get you outa my head
You make me lay awake in bed
Perhaps tomorrow you'l learn my name

Thoughts of regret
As the hours pass me by
What I should've said
But I didn't even try
The sleepless nights
I sit and dream that you'l be mine
Your euphoria is really makin me high

Its a strange obsession
A weird infatuation
This is my confession
Perhaps a revelation
Can't get you outa my head
You make me lay awake in bed
Perhaps tomorrow you'l learn my name
Let your soul shine. Its better than sunshine. Its better than moonshine. Damn sure better than rain.

Most excellent! I really, really enjoyed it. Really dig both the music AND the lyrics! Nicely done. So...since you live here in the 'Burgh, do you play out? If you do, let me know when and where. I will defintely be there! :D

I really got into that. I missed this one too. I only found it because you mentioned we where in the soundclicks charts together. I have to look around more when I come on. The lyrics are very cool and the vocals pretty good. Really love the little blues riffs in there. I think you should work out a little drum and bass line for it.

Thanks Nick. I could probably work out some drums and bass on Guitar Pro if I feel motivated sometime soon. Still weirds me out to hear my own voice.

I don't really check out the Listening Post much, so I don't know what this comment is worth:

That is probably the best song I've ever heard posted on GT.*

The rhythm guitar reminded me a lot of "Down By the River" by Neil Young. The little lead bits fit very well. And actually, I think you have a pretty good voice. It's nice to hear someone once in a while that sounds like a real person but can still hold a tune.

I didn't think the lyrics were much to read, but with the music they fit very well and painted me quite the picture. Excellent job. :)

*Between that and Giant Fighting Robot, I dunnoooo....

Thanks earthman. The comment was very much appreciated...my writing and vocal skills leave something to be desired, but I think I'll start trying both more often. I'm starting to buy into the fact that they add more to the song.

Brendon made me listen to this, otherwise I would have missed it. But he was right, it's really great. I look forward to hearing the next one.
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.

That's a cool track! It may not need any drums at all but a little of bass would really help fatten it out. I thnk you've got a good voice too, the little bits of lead sound real nice - good to actually 'hear' the reverb for once:-)

Brilliant! Stuck in my head already! Great work, man.

And it's also more or less the story of my love life... :o

Sweet tune dude.
Smooth.

If anything, I might do some vocals doubling in places for emphasis and fattening. Great work.

Thanks for listening man. If I wasn't recording retarded, I may try such things. How would I go about it?

I mean along the lines of singing with yourself. Recording a new track with yourself doing backup vocals to add emphasis to certain parts.
