Hi there...
Check out my new idea. For now it's only drums rythm and lead.
Does it work?

Very good Shaz. I couldn't help but find a Satriani "Crushing Day" inspiration. Dunno if I'm off, but thats what it reminded me of. Anyways, everything I've heard from you thus far has been excellent. Keep it up.

Pretty close there my grizzly man...
Well, recently I've been listening to a lot of Satriani. I dunno why, I stopped listening to him for years, not because of boredom, but because I tried to listen to other styles to broaden my Horizon...
However, I been listening to him heaps lately... I think that guy is a GENIUS!!!
Anyway, back to my song, I'd like to add that the verse and the chorus was composed, but the second section during the chorus which I just shred is just improv as I havent composed anything for that part yet.... so yeah...
That's it... and thanks for your comment Grizzly :) appreciated

Perhaps you and I have something in common. No matter what I compose, it seems to come out sounding like a Satch influence, even if I didn't have him in mind at the time of writing the music. I agree, the guy is brilliant. The more I hear from him, the more I appreciate and respect him.

Yeah I hear you Grizzly, Well it's not like I listened to him and tried to imitate him at the time, but mainly I just listened coz I missed listening to him... and now my songs start to sound like him :p
Maybe if you've noticed some of my other songs (if you heard them) tend to be more Neo-classical rather than rock, so yeah it was fun coming up with this new tune.
Since signing up here on GT, and doing my 1st GT solo Assignment in Oct '06, I was like u know, forced (not really) to play the BT by PRSplaya, and I noticed that that style of Rock is quite suited to me, although I strictly play a lot of classical stuff now..... so yeah, GT has helped me to broaden my horizon too... thanks to Guitar Tricks!!! You also ROCK!!!

Yep, awesome tune so far!
Is it just me, or is the lead just barely out of tune in some places? Like when you use too much pressure behind the fret. I listened 3 times to see if I was mistaken (and cuz it rocks :) ), but still couldn't quite place it. Is there maybe a chorus effect with a wide range applied? That sounds more likely actually. Dunno what it is and it's not even by much (if at all?), but it caught my attention. Regardless...enjoyed it!

hmmm... I used a little bit of chorus, not wide enough to be slightly flat in pitch.
In some places I used quite wide vibrato, like before the chorus section 22 fret on the B string. I havent changed my strings in a while :p and I always have the B string inotation going flat before the other strings...
Thanks for the comment mate

Hey Shaz, I think this track is coming along great. Nice melodic progression with some cool shred licks aroun 3/4 way in. The drums are fine IMO, keep the beat and roll in the sections nicely. That EZ Drummer or DFHS? Re the Satch influence, yeah I hear that alright but am happy to say you don't sound like a Satch clone.... too many guys trying to sound exactly like him without getting a style of their own - which you have. I reckon it sounds cool, will definitely check out the finished track.

Just to let you know, I thought the same thing on first listen... could be that one of the strings went slightly out after the big bends near the beginning. Nothing that can't be ironed out though!

the first lines just grabbed my attention. Very grovey and yes, this one has JS influences stamped all over it.
Great job!

Thanks for the comments Super.
You know, All I used was Cubase to do the drums. I got some one hit samples from my recording engineer mate. The samples have different hit strengths/dynamics and basically all I did was drag and drop them into the Cubase timeline making a beat. That's kinda crazy right??? But that's me.
I just try to make do with what I got.
Glad to hear that I'm not a clone of Satch. :D

Hi, I've listened your music.
It's awesome, I love your style, as other have said we can hear an influence of Satriani, and I like it!
Your sound is very good, and your technic too. Impressive guitar technic and precision when you play in legato  :)

That was a pretty cool song thingy. I even listened to the whole thing!
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.

Some how I missed this. I think it's pretty awesome. The very end sounds like something is out of tune or key to me. Could just be me. Very cool  how you took some drum tracks and made something so good out of it. Wish I could develop the speed and cleanness you have. I try fast runs like that and I get noise.
