Ok here's the track for this month. Right Click and save target as. This one has a little bit of a Latin flair. Have fun!

RULE CHANGE!

ok I got this one upadated. This month I wanna put in a new rule that has nothing to do with how you lay down your tracks but how you post your link to your take.

When you are replying to the thread with your link please click on the Globe Icon with the chain link. If your browser is blocking scripted windows click the yellow bar at the top of your browser and temporarily allow scripted windows, then click the icon again.

In the first window typein your User name here at guitartricks. In the next window paste in the link to your music.

The link in your post should appear as your user name. This will save me a load of time when putting up the voting thread.

Thanks guys!

The Chords:

Ebminor////Ebminor/B////Abminor////Abminor//Bb7// x4

Ebminor////Bb7////Bmajor////Abminor x2

The quiet bit (the bridge I guess):

Ebminor////Fminor7b5////Ebminor////Bb7

The amount of slashes after each chord denotes how many beats you play that chord for.

Edit: Oh yeah I should say that the guitar the backing track was played on was tuned down half a step, hence the Ebminor instead of Eminor. So if you want you can tune your guitar down half a step and play in Eminor too.

Thanks Julian. It doesn't mean my attempt will be better. It just means I have a chance of being in key. :D

The chords look complicated but you can pretty much play the Eb harmonic minor over the whole thing. Here's a couple of easy positions for the Eb harmonic minor that I might use:

-----------------------------------------------6--7--10--11----
-------------------------------------6--7--9--------------------
-----------------------------7--8-------------------------------
-------------------6--8--9--------------------------------------
-------6--8---9-------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------10--11-
---------------------------------------------------11--12---------
-------------------------------------- 10--11--13-----------------
------------------------------12--13------------------------------
-----------------11--13--14---------------------------------------
----11--13--14----------------------------------------------------

there's plenty of other ways to play that scale that's just two that come to mind.

Here's my take on this months BT. I really liked this track. I added an additional bass line to this as well as a guitar line.

Enjoy.

Bluegrass that was very cool man. I wish I thought of that.

Here is mine for now. I basically stayed with the latin feel. Kind of Santana-ish but no where near as good :(

It's called Feb Gt Solo
(Bet you never would have found it without that little helpful hit)

Bluegrass, I loved your lead for this song, you really did a good job with that trick where you turn the volume knob down, strike the note, then turn up the volume again; I hope you know that I mean...the point is that you pulled it off very nicely and I really enjoyed yours;

Bar Chord Nick, I liked yours a lot as well, you probably could have turned up the rhythm (volume) a bit more, but other than that it was great, it was pretty, as you said, "santana-ish"; To be honest I probably would have approached it the same way you did and kept it with the latin theme;

I was working on making a lead to it as well, sticking in the b scale but I went a little weird w/ the wammy bar and broke my b string! :p Restringing it now :)

Thanks for the awesome feedback guys. I used the gnx4 volume pedal a lot in that with a preset i created myself using the x editor. I orriginally created it for my Chantry axe but the warlock i was playing in this one sounded real good. It took a while to get the sound i wanted and i had loads of run throughs looking for it and trying different axes until i used the warlock with the chantry setting. I'm not the greatest guitarist in the world by any stretch but i do love to just give it a shot and see how it goes. Oh i sed a guitar to add the bass line too. Another gnx4 creation for bass lines. Normally i use a true bass but wanted a more subtle tone that my bass gives me. :D

Okay, here's mine; It's a little sloppy at the beginning, but I think the "outro" is probably the best part...Idk, check it out for yourself;

The Page the MP3 is on if the above didn't work

It's creatively titled "February Solo"

Ok guys, next week I am going on a trip to Ecuador to visit my family, so I donā€™t have much time for recording; and for that reason I decided to do just a short clip.
I look forward to listen to your takes from ā€œThe middle of the Worldā€
Peace.

Hey I just did my solo for this month.... I was gonna do something with my classical guitar but I decided to spam out on my electric using different tones all the way through just for fun it's all just improvised stuff with no real quality control.

Everyone's is sweet. Go harmonic minor!

As usual, I listen to the others and get an inferiority complex... but here's mine.

A full blown production... I couldn't resist adding some brass for the atmosphere, and anyway if you can put up with my guitar, you can put up with the keyboard too... tis all just as bad! :D

Hope the link thing works...
