Sal, there's no reason you can't be playing some blues in 6 months. If you learn the basic open chords first and learn the simple 12 bar blues format using the I, IV, and V chord progression, then you can play along with virtually any blues song pretty quickly. There are lots of good lessons on here to show you the way. Add a few 7th chords to your portfolio, particularly A7, B7, D7 and E7 and a few minor chords (Am, Em) you get a bluesier sound and some variety in your strumming.

Learning to play lead is an altogether different level of complexity that is really beyond a six month learning curve unless you are going to dedicate a serious amount of time to it. Check out the lessons on the pentatonic scales to get you started.

You can learn to play some blues within 6 months Sal. I have some lessons on "frugal blues" that will show you how to play a solo using only a couple of notes.

Interesting. Are you trying to aim your head into the hole in the box? :D
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.

we were trying to do some ice-skate-bowling with beer crates, I figured why use beer crates when you can just throw yourself at it

Alright, after seeing how brave everyone else is, I guess I can just throw this one up here for now. I'll get a more casual one with my guitar within the next couple of days.

Hmmmm...
I was about to post a ? about guitar pics......light, medium, heavy (thickness of pic), material, etc. to see if anyone has some good suggestions about using one type over another - type of music, type of strings, etc?
Then I realized this was a post for those who are enamored with pictures of other members. Like an ugly dog I have to have a long time to hang around you before I grow on you! So I will keep my pic to myself!

Hey guys!

I just posted a picture of me holding my vintage Gretsch corvette nicknamed Gretschen on my site for helping people learn German.

http://www.germanlearninghelp.com/2011/01/die-gretchenfrage-faust-puns-and-youre-all-a-bunch-of-idioms/

What do you think? Comment here or on the blog.

Thanks.
