We have been ‘talking’ behind the bike sheds, and via private messages, and have agreed that the basis of a lot of our ‘problems’ is simply us getting hold of the wrong end of the stick, as it were. Couple this with the pressure of my ‘never-ending-tour’, the shock of Joolz becoming pregnant (despite being on the contraceptive injections) and Sam’s own problems (which I won’t disclose here) and you have the perfect climate for a fight or three.
You see, I was raised in the iron and steel business. Mum did all the ironing, and dad did all the......er...rest!

We are making a point of trying to have a better understanding of each others own particular brand of ‘dry wit’. From here on in, I will be in here wearing nothing but lightly-soiled ‘Stars & Stripes’ thong, and Sam, for his part, will be the guy in the crotchless Robin Hood costume – as a gesture of cross-culture peace offering.
I will also be hanging my neurosis and paranoia on the back of the door, with my winter coat, and have already deleted all of my own posts that refer to Sam, and I am sure he’ll do the same, when he finds time.

As an added measure, I have lengthened my annoyingly short fuse, to a full 2 inches, will be keeping the ‘safety-catch’ on my typing fingers (both of them!) and have ordered a DIY ‘Pre-Frontal Lobotomy Kit’ from EBay to erase my short-term memory, and prevent me from ‘over reacting’ to previous posts.

To finish, I also extend to Sam a public apology too, a copy of which can be viewed; without appointment, hanging above my desk between the hand-knitted “No Place like Home” and “All’s Well That Ends Well” wall plaques. There will also be a limited edition CD with the same apology, narrated in sombre tones by Richard Dimbleby, with a foreword by former ‘Bay City Rollers’ singer Les Mckeown.

Thank you for listening, and here’s to rocking good times ahead, and other similar Cliché material. :)

btw. Thamks also for the private messages, requesting that I don't actually 'take a break' from GT for a while. It's nice to have friends.

Yeah... What he said

Hey, rockonn, I like your wall! Especially the picture of the unicorn helpfully labelled "unicorn"! :D

Here's that venue in Crewe I was talking about. The first time we played there, we had a really great night, good crowd, good acoustics. So I said to Martin (Manager) 'Get us on there again pal'.
Fast forward 4 months and we arrived there again, only to find the place boarded-up! Locals told us it had been closed for a few weeks.
Not like Martin to not do a chase-up (check all is well) prior to setting out.
So this picture is a bit special:

pretty cool Pseudonym though.

I have been called Steve Gad since I was a kid though, it's not like i even knew who Steve Gadd was. Did you know that Gary Glitter's real name is Paul Gadd?
The reson I got my nickname, was due to the fact that I was a crack shot with a catapult as a kid (bear with me) and where we live, a catapult is known as a 'Gadder'. I was called 'Gadder' for several years, then it got shortened to 'Gad'. You'd be surprised how many people call me (affectionately, of course) 'Gadrock'. That was started by the landlord of my local (where I still play at least once a week) I walked in one day and he just said "How you doin' Gadrock?'. So that one has stuck too, for at least a dozen people.
The only people who call me Steve are my mother, and Juliet. Former girlfriends have all called me 'Gad'. One girl -an ex-girlfriend - tells that I wanted to call myself 'God', but that name being taken, I substituted the first available vowel. A 'Woman scorned' eh readers!

Hope that's cleared that up for you buddy. :)

Joolz in 'Rock Chick' pose. She brought the strap herself, on merit of it 'going nicely with jeans'.
Assistand in shop: "And this model has humbuckers, slimline neck, and a light, well-balanced body...etc..etc."

Juliet: "Yes, but will it go with the new bag I just bought?"

Not meant to be misogynistic, but when Joolz either breaks something, or does something silly, she'll say "Well, I am a blonde!" She's natural too, so does that make her more prone to 'blondeness' and all that entails?

True. I spent a fair amount of my time explaining that I didn't 'pick' my name because of Steve Gadd. But as I said before, most don't even know who he is,(nor who I am for that matter!) so it's usually only other musicians who ask if I play drums.
