Hi, i play since last sunday (1 week) almost every day about 30m/day

I started reading some theory and at the same time learning some pieces of scales songs (a little bit of some). At the same time i'm starting to practice some chords but not too much on songs (i played a few songs with a little of easy chords but nothing special).

The sound is still bad, i can't change yet 1 chord to another (ok, maybe 5 seconds later), my left hand fingers hurt (normal) but i have another problem.

For example, chord C: i can't put my 3rd finger on the 3rd fret of the 5th string. I don't know if my fingers are too small, if the guitar fret's are too large, or if i need to practice more my muscles to be able to play right that chord.

I play on the button of the fret the other strings and than the last finger just touch the top of the fret. i just can play that chord with my 4th finger, and even with that finger i need to force too much to reach the fret.

Do you think that i will be able to play that correctly in few months of practice? Should i try every day to play that chord with the finger that only touch the top of the fret?

Last question, i don't use yet too much the metronome, but i will start now to use it frequently. I usually play correctly at 40bpm ( :( ), 60 bpm max but with worst quality of sound. What do you think that is a good value to practice until i move to another step with just 1 week of guitar "lessons"?

Thank you and sry my english

First of all practice at least 1 hour a day! Second, your transition speed willl increase as you practice and so will your ability to stretch your fingers. I have small fingers, and when I first started playing i thought that'd i'd never be able able to play anything, but now...
Basically you just need to practice, practice, practice. try to learn all the notes and chords before you start learning the sclaes. it'll make it easier. playing with a metrenome is a good way to start. remember: accuracy is more important then speed. ONce you can everything perfectly at a slow pace, then try and play faster.

thank you for the awnser.

i'll keep practice, i already saw some progress, i just need to wait until my fingers get used to chords then.

Btw, i'm still waiting for the pick, i'm just playing with my fingers. Do you think i should concentrate more on my fingers, pick or both at the same level?

I read it depends too on the style of music i want to learn, but actually i don't have a defined style yet, so..
