Is the fan blowing out warm air? Could be that it's overheating. ORRRRR could be bad RAM. ORRRR could be....

yea its definitely blowing out warm air...if its the ram, what could have happened to it? ive deleted alot of stuff too..ran scans and such...doesnt seem to be helping at all...im just hoping if theres a way to resolve this on my own before handing it over to the shop or something...its a hassle to do that too...any suggestions?

If its an XP, you should have the restore feature that will restore the lappy from a few weeks ago. I've had some issues with my lappy before and that has resolved them.

Start > all programs > accessories > system tools > system restore

if the RAM has gone bad (happens all the time), it could be bombing out while trying to load up stuff into RAM, which would explain why it happens when you're buffering.

also, check out the system event log and you should be able to get some valuable troubleshooting info from it.

right click on the "my computer" icon on your desktop and then click on "manage". Then look on the left hand side and click on Event Viewer. From there look at the system log and see what kind of funky stuff is going on. Prolly should do it immediately after it crashes. Then just google whatever errors you're seeing. Should help you at least narrow the problem down.
