Hi everyone,
can anyone help me to make fusion solo...i really love to see those guitarists like Greg Howe, Bret Garse, Allan Holdsworth and many more..What is the most efficient way of delivering those fusion notes?...by pick or just hammer on and pull off?

Many thanks

It depends what you mean... Picking and legato both have their place, and I'd use both in a solo for variety anyway. I favour legato, but only because picking really fast can sound a little mechanical (at least when I do it!)

The easiest place to start is probably improvising with a minor scale and adding some diminished stuff.

Personally, I find I get a good fusion sound using Dorian and the whole/half diminished scale...

Dude how long have you been playing guitar? before you can make your fusion lead guitar sound good you need to have a good knowledge of the modes of the major scale and how to play them in different positions.

Thanks a lot ren & Julian Vickers :) ,
i ve been playing guitar for about 16 yrs now...and i only learnt most of the technics from video tapes. Before, i was only into rock, heavy metal, neo classical and progressive stuffs and now am get attracted to jazz and fusion...

Anyway, are there any "typical/standard" sequences/phrasing that applicable to those scales u guys mentioned earlier...?
