one year, i dressed as Kurt Cobain. It was very easy to do, just didn't have to bathe for a day (although I love and respect the guy very much)
what about everyone else?

In grade 10 i was a nerd. It was rad. I had punched out sunglasses with tape on the nosepice. Me hair was gelled to a part. i wore suspenders and a whit dress shirt that was 6 sizes too small. I wore tight jeans that floated six inches above my shoes, and hiked up my socks. O ya

O ya...the pocket protecter was a nice touch too.

A couple years ago I went out as Waldo (as in "Where's Waldo?"). It was pretty uncanny.

One of the funniest costumes I've seen was actually my brother's and his friend's, who both went as the Ambiguously Gay Duo (SNL cartoon superheros). Of course they played the part well too, with the poses and such.

Otherwise, my best costume wasn't all that great, but I took an inflatable pool float's pillow headrest and put it over my head and on my shoulders, then put on a very large flannel over it all to become a headless man. It wasn't the absolutely most creative ever, but the effect was still pulled off well.

Similarly, this year I used cut up kiddie arm floaties under my shirt for exaggerated muscles, got an all black polo shirt with white trim, and latex gloves for Big John McCarthy of UFC. I almost won best costume at the party I was at for it, but got beat out by Superman.

One halloween in college I went as generic man. Long ago there was this generic beer sold in cans, I'm not sure if it can still be purchased. The can was totally white, with the single word BEER on the can. So I used this as a prop. I wore a white t-shirt with the word shirt written in sharpie. White hat with the word HAT and white pants with the words Left Pant Leg and Right Pant leg written in sharpie. I got alot of strange looks :D

I wore the same pirate garb I dressed up in for pirates of the carribean 2 when it first came out. My friends and I wandered around the parking lot for half an hour singing "a pirates' life for me"
Don't worry. I shred.

last year, me and two buds of mine dressed up as hula girls. coconut bras and all.

it was freezing.

then this year, we were going to be different Michael Jacksons. like, i was going to be him in "Billy Jean", my bud eric was going to be from "thriller" and kastel was going to be from "beat it".

UNFORRTUNATLYYY, we forgot about halloween until the day of, and so both came over to my house and we threw together some stuff we found in my closed. eric was a princess, I was a Jester, and kastel our slave.
JK

I can't believe I forgot this, but last year I went out as an Oompah-Loompah (the way they look in the Gene Wilder movie, not the Johnny Depp one).

hah, that's awesome

This year me and my friends were a band of gypsies, we just wore a bunch of crazy/trippy stuff.

An actual band of gypsies, or the Jimi Hendrix/Buddy Miles/Billy Cox trio?

Last year I went trick or treating as Brad Wilk. I just pretty much drew a crappy tattoo on my arm with a marker and carried around a drumstick (some of the time). I still feel as though I cheated a lot of people out of candy, but such is the spirit of the holiday.
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.
