Hi,
Last night there was a disk read/write problem that prevented the guitar tricks database from working.

My apologies for any inconvenience.

Tonight at 4am CST we will be doing some testing to determine what was the cause, and potentially making some hardware changes. This testing will bring the site down again, probably for about two hours.

Hopefully, there will be no issues between now and 4am.

We appreciate your patience. We will try to minimize the impact to you.

That was scary. An entire math class with no GT! I was freaking out, I hope that never happens again. I'm just glad that the databases weren't wiped out. Imagine if we all had to start from nothing again.
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.

We could play a game. Everyone gets new usernames and we try to figure out who everyone is after a month of simply posting.

As it turned out, the server was pretty unstable so they took it down between 2-4 and it is now back.

I haven't found out what they did yet, but I hopefully it is all squared away now.

Sorry about the inconvenience.

Hummm I suspect that would not bee too difficult !

Do we let banned members back into the fray ? That might be fun we could have the joy of banning them all over again !

Ok ignore me I spent the latter half of the afternoon sticking pins in pickled human brains, then rushed home to record a cello !

I bet no one could identify me form the last sentence
My instructors page and www.studiotrax.net for all things recording.

Yeah - I couldn't either.. from about 7am Atlantic time until about 1:20ish.. I couldn't get anything...

I'm assuming they are still having issues. But it sure messes up my day with no GT!

I just got off the phone with the server people.

They recommend we migrate to a new server. This one is pretty old, we have been on it for maybe 3 years.

We had plans to migrate in January, but it looks like we will migrate this week instead.

We will do what we can to minimize the disruption for you.

eek. hope it doesn't screw up all the ascii tabs like it did a few years back.
Back then I only had a coupla hundred lessons but remember spending hours fixing weird #@ symbols that got introduced for no reason.
