I think the rule on this is you're most recent take will be the one that is put in for the voting. That said you could do a new one everyday if you like. :)

Hey, I am new here, I just kind of discovered the monthly solo thing in the last newsletter that came out. This forum is excellent, and I have listened to all of the solos posted, and wow they are awesome! Amazing! :)

Here is my take. I tried to set up a soundclick page, but couldn't get it to work  so I posted this to my video streaming service. Hopefully it works ok.

http://link3.streamhoster.com/video_player.php?u=kevhldr&p=%2Foct+solo.wma&odaid=3999&w=720&h=480&title=Easy+Video+Player

BTW this backing track is totally incredible, the tone is phenominal on those guitars in the backing track. I can never get my backing tracks to sound good, and it make all the difference in the world! Excellent work!

Zach - technically great, and a nice tone as well! Good job, man.

Kevhldr - welcome to GT, and nice solo, great melodies around the two-and-a-half minute mark.
"It's all folk music... I ain't never heard no horse sing!"
- Attributed variously to Leadbelly and Louis Armstrong

If at first you don't succeed, you are obviously not Chuck Norris.

Wow thats a realy cool intro!! nice use of arpeggios!! and I like the tone, I also like the way you added a lead melody under your solo nicely done!! as the song moved on I could hear a lot more confidence in your solo  one of my faves this month :D

Hey thanks man! I have been working on the Arpeggio work for a few months now(since the May assignment I think). They seem to be coming along. :) I kinda held back a little at the beginning. I wanted to have something left for the end. Thanks again.

I'm way outclassed here, but hey, its all for fun isn't it :)

This is how to ruin a perfectly good backing track...

All single notes, coz 49 year old fingers ain't up to much after 3 months playing...
Can you play "Far Far Away?"

Yes - how far would you like?

Eric Great Track! I however couldn't do a thing with it. Really struggled with this one and everyone else really had some Awesome takes. It will be hard to pick a winner this month.

Anyway here is my version. I did it drunk. It was the only way I would post this :) .

Thanks for the kind words. I'm truly impressed with the standard of all the takes I've listened to. I have some way to go I think!

Nick - what were you drinking - maybe I should try some!

Not bad Nick, some good passages in there and some noticably drunk ones  but not a bad take :)
