I've recently taken an interest in physical, technical skills. I've learned some cool stuff, but I have a major concern. I just restringed my acoustic with thicker gauged strings and am unable to physically execute the techniques. Should I force my muscles to adapt to the new tension or replace the strings? I perform with a thinner gauge on my electric.
Bass guitar is the answer to everything

I'd definitely stick with the thicker gauge. I always use a medium or heavy gauge on my acoustic guitars, because once you get used to it your technique improves quite a bit. When you switch back to the electric you'll find a lot of things pretty much effortless.

Besides, thicker string sound better on acoustics. Louder, too.
