Builders in the amber light
To the dealers go the delights
Victims in someone elses fight
Why should we care? Why should we care? There will always be tonight

Try to channel to a woman, she needs
Straight channel discipline
Baby I would give you some but then
I would have to offer some to him
Don't know what secrets lie inside
The distant darkside of your mind

There's so much to gain
But I don't know what I have got to lose
Before I can get it
The happiness I always will refuse
It's all just the same
When you step back and look at every single day
A blur of gray
Get on your knees now, let's all pray for rain

Meet the child with the Bread Mouth, he says
His favourite place is the beach
He said that if I wanted some, well then
He had something that I couldn't reach
Don't know what secrets lie inside
The distant darkside of your mind

There's so much to gain
But I don't know what I have got to lose
Before I can get it
The happiness I always will refuse
It's all just the same
When you step back and look at every single day
A blur of gray
Get on your knees now, let's all pray for rain

And it's coming now
Feel it coming down
Won't you turn around
And then I will wash it down
And it's coming now
Feel it coming down
Won't you turn around
And then I will wash it away

There's so much to gain
But I don't know what I have got to lose
Before I can get it
The happiness I always will refuse
It's all just the same
When you step back and look at every single day
A blur of gray
Get on your knees now, let's all pray for rain

Builders in the amber light
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.

"Builders in the amber light" is one of those lines that i think is f***ing genius. I don't think you should have it again at the end, though. In my mind, there's no reason for it to be there. That's my only complaint.

I like the chaotic, hard-to-imagine-what-it-sounds-like-with-music structure of it all.

That line about the Bread Mouth child is cool.

I don't know if you've ever heard of... or heard any of their work... But this reminds me a lot of Thrice. The way the words work and the flow of the syllables and such... if you're curious about a specific track have a listen to "Between the End and Where We Lie" also check out the following if you're into that...

Music Box
Red Sky
Silhouette
For Miles
Atlantic
The Earth Will Shake
Like Moths to Flame

Nice song. Curious to hear the music!

Good stuff, by far my favorite of your lyrics that I have seen.

Meet the child with the Bread Mouth, he says
His favourite place is the beach
He said that if I wanted some, well then

Awesome sequence of lines, by the way. You're lucky to be able to write so many songs.

Blokes,
Cant really comprehend the league acapella is in.
Good stuff it is...
This question is often asked here, but how do you come up with this stuff.
I have written two songs (check here) and they are all just about the same thing, some fight i had with me gal.
So am thinking,if i cant relate to somethin, then i have nothing to write about?
Talk to i mates

Thanks for the comments peeps. I think I'm starting to get the hang of this "song" thing. Brendon, I will probably leave that part out actually, so I guess you win. Aschleman, I'm having trouble finding those songs, got an MP3 you can send me? Holly, I guess I am lucky, but I think it's more a matter of just overcoming laziness. Glicthead...uh...thanks? That's some pretty intense complimenting you have there. I don't know "how" I come up with stuff. I just kind of do. As for your question, I don't see how you can not relate to anything. Everything has the potential to be a song, it's just a matter of stopping being lazy and starting doing something.

That inspired me to write a song last night. I was like "I'm not lazy." Then wrote it to prove myself worth. Only problem is I didn't finish the lyrics.
