A thread left by MadGuitarest asked:
"I am trying to find a unique look for stage, i dont want to look punk or anything these days, i want to look sharp. Like how Randy Rhoads Looked when he played in Quiet riot. ALl i know is nothing baggy and something kool looking, is there a website that has like stage attire or anything?"
It did not get very good responses. I was wondering if anyone could tell me and/or give me a link to a picture of the description above. Thanx! ROCK ON!!

Alls I know is that I have dibs on yellow jeans. None of you can wear yellow jeans; that's my thing.

Well, it will be once I get yellow jeans.

Maybe in the 80's........ haha. If I saw a 16-25 year old wearing that today I would call him a poser... Mostly becuase you don't get to the point that you can wear stuff like that^^^ until after you establish yourself... I say... Guitar/music first.... then girls... then booze... THEN the way you look. Who cares what you wear as long as you can play your instrument... There's nothing worse than watching a punk band with a guitar player that plays four barre chords with a guitar that costs 200 dollars... and is wearing 150 dollar boots, 80 dollar tight hip hugger jeans, a 40 dollar white belt, a 40 dollar vintage belt buckle, a 60 dollar designer vintage tshirt, 40 dollars worth of wrist bands and jewelry, with a 30 dollar hair cut and product in their hair trying to act like a hardcor "punk"........ just ain't happening.

Jeans... shirt... shoes are optional... that's my philosophy.

My bad. Should have been:

no shirt + studded leather vest + bleached hair = gay-bar poser or time-lost 80's retro

Sad case either way...

Just dress like you normally would, no sense in dressing like someone else or un-comfortably. Save the costumes for Halloween gigs.

You guys should see my bassist... Trapeze trousers, cowboy/motorbike boots,
and ugly, ugly, uuuugly shirts... flower pattern and so. An, his brother, the drummer, a waist long hair and he is most of the time naked from waist above...
But they are not posers.. They really live like that.. i kind of admire them.
Me? I just don"t fit in.. always wear marks... like lacoste, D&G and so...
Of course, it"s not original... ;) Couldn"t afford it. or it is, but it fell out of the truck... ;) But, it is like someone saed. Be a good player and you can come barefoot and still look cool.

Also, a black suit and tie with a flame red shirt is pretty sweet and lets everyone know you're actually a really devious, deadly person under that nice suit of yours.

If you live in LA or NY you can probably pull off the shirt and suit jacket with jeans and Pumas, which is cool... "I'm slick but I don't care."

If you move around even a little bit under any kind of stage lighting at all, you're going to have to specialise in collecting groupies who have no sense of smell! :p :o

When I was in a working band, lo those many years ago, I just used to get onstage with whatever work clothes I had on that day. Usually, jeans and a t-shirt with big black work boots. I always wore a belt thus my guitars had these lovely belt buckle scratches on the back.

I can't ever remember going out and buying clothes especially for gigging except maybe a t-shirt that said something clever. I think I got a Dead Kennedys t shirt.

Oh well, speaking of Randy Rhoads, I had a t-shirt that was from the event that would have been Randy Rhoads last gig. I think I gigged in that shirt a couple of times. It was one of those white shirts with the 3/4 length black sleeves. I had no idea that t-shirts could become collector's items or else I would have taken better care of it. I haven't seen it in years now. May have been worth some money.

:p That is so 40 years ago. I'm not nostalgic for that crap at all! You can have that Motown line-dancin' too.

Back in '68 I picked up the habit of wearing my belts offset, with the buckle just in front of the loop at the side. No buckle-rash on my guitars. :)

Mind, I soon learned that big buckles were not a good idea - at least not if I planned to use that pocket at all.
