I did a search for Flamenco scales and theory within the forum before I posted this, but I didn't really see anything pertaining to a whole book of Flamenco riffs or songs that were meant to be played on an electric guitar. So does anyone know if there's a book/CD combo out that teaches Flamenco guitar style on the electric guitar?

Flamenco is meant to be played on a nylon string acoustic guitar. Your best bet would be to buy a book for just that and simply play what you can on an electric. Fingerpicking like that is a bit more difficult on an electric because of string spacing and composition.

I can play flamenco techniques just as easily on my electric as on my acoustic, but, like you said, Jolly, composition is the main thing - flamenco just doesn't sound right with steel strings and an electric tone. On the other hand, Robbie Krieger used some flamenco style licks in some of his solos, and they sounded awesome.
Perhaps you could look at some Doors guitar solo tabs for some ideas, Steve.

I don't mean to be so skeptical, but a fingerpicked tremolo on an electric seems MUCH much harder than on a nylon string acoustic.

It probably is for most people. I'm just a bit weird. :) (I've always played fingerstyle, so I'm used to fingerpicked tremolos etc)

Hmmm. I think I'd prefer it on a classical, although flamenco style licks played with a pick on an electric still sound cool.
