Why are acoustics more expensive...
...than electrics? I just wanted to know why one earth an acoustic bass is so much more expensive than an electric one. One would think it was the other way round.

its a heck of alot harder to make an acoustic bass the strings are very heavy and the body needs to be built to endure the pull of the strings where a solid body has more mass to it and has no trouble stain together :D

acoustic guitars are more delicate and fragile.
that would be like asking why w glass cup costs more than a plastic.

Acoustics are way, way harder to make than electrics.
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.

There really isn't much difference in the prices... if you sit back and look at it... The one main difference is probably that less manufacturers make acoustic instruments because they are, in fact, harder to make. So there for you have less competition within the market. You can still find cheap acoustics... the quality of them will equal the quality of a cheap electric... A nice acoustic will equal the price of an equally nice electric... in most cases... The acoustic brands... Taylor and Martin... would be considered the Paul Reed Smiths of the Acoustic industry... the Gibson and Fender Acoustics would be... well.... the Gibson and Fenders.... The Takamine, Ibanez, Ovation would be like the Ibanez, ESP/LTD, Jackson electrics... then you hae the Epiphone, Squire, Yamaha (they do make high end models) would be the lower end model acoustics... So there really isn't much difference in price so much... but rather the amount of manufacturers and models you have to choose from... There are, in general, more high end acoustics than electrics... making it seem like they're more expensive...
