i thought it was pretty cool actually. occasionly the runs went on for too long. i think it needs the odd break and possible less shreddin. not that shredding isnt good in fact i liked our quite a lot just that you cant depend on it to much.
anyway overall very good

This is way beyond anything I can do and it sounds like a brilliant exercise but it's not really a tune is it? 10/10 for the playing though :D

Blimey mate, I'm flattered. I'm also a little embarrassed at my own playing compared the general standard on this site. I don't visit too often but whenever I do I want to hang up my plectrum and take up kazoo (hey - that scans)

Yep having listened and attempting to learn from all these points, I made another tune with all these in mind...see what you think...it's called "Red Kite"

I listened to the Hillbilly song. It sounds like you were going for a good old fashion fun shred fest and definately accomplished it. Good stuff.
I like the rhythm guitar's tone on Red Kite quite a bit. I think you were going for a more dramatic and melodic song with "Red Kite," however the phrasing just left me confused. It really didn't seem like I was progressing towards anything and most of the notes seemed to just be a technical filler for the progression, I recommend studying or practicing a little more on your composition ( however this is just my opinion ). Good chops though!
Peace.

Glad you liked my Hillbilly2 tune...the tune is my depiction about an arguement I had on another forum - about a theory I came up with called Hillbilly2 (one of eight theories - from me - a hillbilly) and supposed to represent a heated exchange between two people...about who created a big bang...so it's an arguement put to music if you will..
My red kite tune - is about standing in a field - while the farmer is feeding Red Kites...a protected species in these parts (I watched this last week), so the melodies represent the Red Kites flying over head - and coming in to feed (sometimes landing two at a time) so the melodies overlap..
Hope that explains the compositions a bit better.....
