I've just bought a new Electronic tuner for my acoustic guitar. It's a "KORG CHROMATIC TUNER CA-30".

Now when i tried to tune my guitar strings using the tuner, i've noticed that my 6th string (the tickest base string) doesn't sound quite right when i play a song. Then i read the manual it says normal people tune at 440Hz. So i tried to tune at 440Hz. Now my 1st string (Low end E) doesn't sound right too when i tune it correctly occording to the meter when it flashes green.

Now im really lost. Im not good at listening and tuning so i bought this electronic tuner and hoping it will help me alot. Now with this electronic tuner it seems i still cant tune my strings to the correct tune.

I need some advice from you guys. I don't think my electronic tuner is giving me the problem. Could any one tell me how to use the electronic tuner correctly? I know i must have screwed up somewhere using the Electronic tuner. Please advice me! Thanks~

Hmmm...Well if you are using that tuner make sure it is saying the right note and stuff. Second with an acoustic I'm guessing you have to use the little mic on the tuner in which case you wanna be somewhere that is as quiet as poissible. Third if your guitar isn't that expensive I have found that when you tune one string sometimes it throws the other strings out of whack. So as you tune go back and make sure the other strings are still tuned right. other than that I dunno. Good luck and I hope it works out for you. :)

well, if all else fails, just do it the old fashioned way- by doing the whole 5th fret on E to get A... 5th fret A to get D... and so fourth. as long as you can get one of your strings sounding right, and tune all of them to it... then you'll be good to go.

The tuner may be trying to tell you to check the intonation.

The low E usually is quite contrasted from the rest of the strings, or at least to my ears, because it's a lot more bassy. But if it's really contrasted, like really doesn't sound right then i guess ask a professional.

I usually have to tune my low E string a little flat on my guitars, whether the intonation is spot on or not. I usually do that by ear, though.

Sounds to me like somethings not holding solid, wether it be lose, or worn out tuning heads, or a lose bridge, and possibly anything in between. If your gutiar is expensive have it checked out by a tech, if its cheep and not worth the repair costs trash it, or try to fix it your self. I doubt its a problem with your tuner. But thats just me.

Are your pickups too close to the strings?

Isn't that tuner a guitar and bass tuner? If so make sure it is set to tune your guitar and not a bass.
I am a constant evolving music machine. Oh Man, I just forgot what I was playing. Oh well, on to the next song.

It's also got a 'sound' function. Just turn on the sound and listen.
Keep in mind it also provides tuning for 7 strings which would be the first tone you hear.
