The first rock band I ever liked was Nirvana, and Kurt Cobain is still a huge influence on me. Also, Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo (from Sonic Youth), Jimmy Page (Led Zep), George Harrison (the Beatles), Chet Atkins, David Gilmour, and Robbie Krieger. I like these players because they are good, but not impossibly good. I love Jimi Hendrix as well, but he's so good it's inhuman. It's hard to aspire to be "inhuman." I like players who are fairly simple, and yet sound great, and that's why the aforementioned ones really stand out for me.
