Hello guys, I cant post here at Guitartricks for about a month now (I just posted through the internet cafe for help). The problem was my computer seems to be running very very slow and something was eating a lot of my memory. My friend says its because of those pesky spyware and malware.
Up to now Im just using my computer for watching movies but absolutely no internet.

Does anyone here knows a program that can remove those crap. Im just itchin to blast those  $#*t away. Thanks.

Many free programs are available for detecting and removing malware. Lavasoft is among the best.

its good to have 2 programs though as at times one may detect what the other might not... the lavasoft one is great... search and destroy is also a very useful program...i have 3... i use both the lavasoft, and the search and destroy, and another one from microsoft...its free... u can check it out at their site..

I use the Adaware program, its free and works good, only some things it cant remove for some reason, but it is good, my school uses it. If you know the certain type of spyware or virus, you can download a specific removal tool just for that purpose.

I use >Zone Labs< Zone Alarm Pro firewall security suite with anti-virus and spyware detection & removal utilities. It costs about $50 a year to subscribe to the upgrade service, but I've never had a virus trash my system, or been bogged down by spyware since I started using it. And these days, an unprotected 'puter gets probed by bad guys within minutes of logging on to the 'net. With a good security suite, you can amuse yourself by looking at the logfile listing all the times that malware tried to infect your system, while you surfed by, unharmed.

I know one! It's called...oh...you're done. I'll go kill myself.
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.

we were talking about suicide in my health class yesterday. it turns out that girls are more likely to attempt suicide than guys. but guys are more likely to be successful in their attempt. this is because when a girl tries to do it, she usually tries to OD on pills. and when I guy does it, they use a more effective method like a gun, or hanging themselves (or dipping their scrotums in pools full of pirahna's)

Yay for keeping a resolved thread alive for no apparant reason. If you still have ideas post 'em. The people who don't post probably know how to use the search function. What worked for Fretfire might not work for others. No need to kill yourself.I know it was a joke

I use something called "spyware doctor" I dunno if it's free or not (my parents got it) but it works really well.. as long as you have like an hour for it to scan everything..

I use McAfee security software. It costs like 50-100 depending on what you want. The expensive stuff is more for businesses that have whole networks and stuff but just the virus and spyware blocking and repair are worth the money. Free updates and what not too.

Alright Momma Ninja. Thanks for believing in me! Go to this site and click the huge red letters that say free scan. It's caught a few things on my compy that I would rather live without, and it's...free.

meh, I have mcafee too (in addition to the spyware doctor) the mcafee is good for finding trojans and viruses.. the really harmful stuff.. but it doesn't detect near as much spyware as the spyware doctor. plus it takes even LONGER to scan your computer.
