So I got a job. It's just a weekend job. It's at a turkey farm. Apparently I just gotta collect eggs and clean them. Sounds pretty easy, and it's $8 an hour, which is just a shred above minimum wage. I start this Saturday. At 5:30. Yeah, that's right. 5:30. Not "wake up at 5:30, be here for 6." More like "be working by the time 5:30 rolls around."

$8 seems to be quite reasonable for the job description, and since I didn't get paid to lose part of my tooth I'm not really seeing the leverage.

we're supposed to make $.50 per hour extra on sundays.. but they recently decided to make a "new contract" which is screwing everyone over. so courtesy clerks (what I am) don't get such benefits.
but I'm going to be quitting that job soon probably (seriously, I put in an online application to another grocery store.. and was called by them less than 9 hours later!)

let's see, I'm not sure if they have the same rules as safeway does. they may allow me to work in some other department before I'm 18. I could be a checker, or work in the produce. and, there is one guy in my health class that works there, in the produce department, and I overheard him say "yeah, all the managers are pretty chill. it's cool" which sounds totally opposite to the managers at my store, who are so uptight about everything. I'm still unsure whether the pay will be more, less, or the same though. I expect it to be around the same, as places will usually pay a bit more if you have experience.
