i just bought an LTD Ec1000 and it rules! It has an EMG 85 and 60. my only concern is that even through a tube amp, the pickups are very sterile and there isnt much warmth too them. They are great distorted and give me just the sound i wanted but they are just a little dry for my taste clean.

Does anyone have any suggestions or has anyone encountered this orblem before?

Thanks!!!

The best solution would be to switch to different pups.

I like a DiMarzio PAF Pro at the neck, and PonyOne will agree, DiMarzio Tone Zone for the bridge.

Use 1 Meg pots all 'round.

And Series/Parallel coil switching.

And a Phase switch.

try a BBE362 sonic maximizer. I got mine off EBAY for about 60 bucks. You can plug your guitar into it then from the BBE to your amp. Or you can plug it into your FX return. Either way it's a nice piece of kit.... ;)
I am a constant evolving music machine. Oh Man, I just forgot what I was playing. Oh well, on to the next song.
