If you read my qoute of your post, you'll see that I edited it for spelling and content.

Nurse Ratchet was metioned in "Baldry's Out!" following the intro monologue, in reference to "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest".

"The universe is shaped exactly like earth/ if you go straight long enough you'll end up where you were"

Third Planet by Modest Mouse

"The cellar door is an open throat"

"The House that Bleeds" by Mountain Goats

I actually like majority of the lyrics from both of these bands because they have good lines.

How can you keep your head
And not go insane
When the only light at the end
Of the tunnel is another train
For life is quite absurd and death's the final word, You must always face the curtain with a bow
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.

Funny feeling everything's gonna be alright now

Don't you understand what I'm tryin to say
Can't you feel the fears I'm fearin today
If the buttons pushed there's no runnin away
Ther'll be no one to save
with the world in a grave
Take a look around ya boy it's bound to scare ya boy

And ya tell me over and over an over again my friend
ahhhh you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction

Barry McGuire-Eve of Destruction

I'd put all the lyrics up but I don't wanna get in trouble.

Anyone want 'em PM me.

"But I don't want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness, I want sin."
"In fact," said Mustapha Mond, "you're claiming the right to be unhappy."
"All right then," said the Savage defiantly, "I'm claiming the right to be unhappy."
"Not to mention the right to grow old and ugly and impotent; the right to have syphillis and cancer; the right to have too little to eat; the right to be lousy; the right to live in constant apprehension of what may happen tomorrow; the right to catch typhoid; the right to be tortured by unspeakable pains of every kind." There was a long silence.
"I claim them all," said the Savage at last.

I reckon it would be pretty cool if, in "Brave New World" by Iron Maiden, they recorded somebody reading that passage during the guitar solo.

Knowing Iron Maiden, they'd probably do it in its own section, rather than under the solo.

too many great lines,
that bring thoughts and feelings,
so I'll just begin with a few,
sometimes the most simplistic have great meanings

Dream Theater - Learning to Live:
Once again we dance in the crowd
At times a step away
From a common fear that's all spread out
It won't listen to what you say
Once you're touched you stand alone
To face the bitter fight

Dream Theater - Space-dye Vest (one of my favorite songs, just beautifull)
Love is an act of blood and I’m bleeding
A pool in the shape of a heart
Beauty projection in the reflection
Always the worst way to start

One song I really had to post, I love it
I'm not sure if it's original, but I've known it through Papa Roach - Tight Rope
we are the future, the 21st. century dyslexic glue sniffing cybersluts with homicidal minds and handguns
we are insane
nothing will change

I speak of madness
my heart and soul
I cry for people who aint got control
lets take our sanity, lets take compassion
and be responsible for every action

normally I'm into those really deep lines (and metafores) but these songs did something to me
= good music is good drinking =

When I was in middle school my favorite song was Slow Motion by Third Eye Blind.... now, before you write me off and say "He has/had no taste in music." I just have to say, this song isn't the typical 3EB song. It's not about love... It's not about anything cliche at all really... Just this last weekend I rediscovered it when I was sifting through some old burnt CDs. It's now again one of my favorite songs... I recommend downloading it... It's a slower song obviously to tend to the title... It goes like this...

Miss Jones taught me English
But I think I just shot her son
'Cause he owed me money
With a bullet in the chest you cannot run
Now he's bleeding in a vacant lot
The one in the summer where we used to smoke pot
I guess I didn't mean it
But man, you shoulda seen it
His flesh explode

Slow motion see me let go
We tend to die young
Slow motion see me let go
What a brother knows
Slow motion see me let go

Now the cops will get me
But girl, if you would let me
I'll take your pants off
I got a little bit of blow we could both get off
Later bathing in the afterglow
Two lines of coke I cut with Drano
And her nose starts to bleed
A most beautiful ruby red

Slow motion see me let go
We'll remember these days
Slow motion see me let go
Urban life decays
Slow motion see me let go

And at home
My sister's eating paint chips again
Maybe that's why she's insane
I shut the door to her moaning
And I shoot smack in my veins
Wouldn't you?
See my neighbor's beating his wife
Because he hates his life
There's an arc to his fist as he swings
Oh man, what a beautiful thing
And death slides close to me
Won't grow old to be
A junkie one old creep

Hollywood glamorized my wrath
I'm a young urban psychopath
I incite murder for your entertainment
'Cause I needed the money
What's your excuse?
The joke's on you

Slow motion see me let go
Oh yeah
Slow motion see me let go
Slow motion see me let go

That's the best part of the song. I love it becasue it's so random... It's a softer melodic type of a song... and the singer really sings it with no remorse which makes it even funnier to listen to. And it seems like everytime one of my friends here it for the first time they're like "WHAT THE F......?" at the part that he says "But maaaaaaaan, you should have seeeen it.... His flesh explode... Slow Motion, see me let go" I think it's a genius song.
