i just baught the tone port ux1... its a thing that lets u plug in ur guitar to the pc throught this devise..... now i installed everything and plug in the devise to the pc then i plug in the guitar to the devise(thats all i did) and when i tryed recording with the recording program (with the the winodws recording program that comes with windows xp) it didn't work... wat else am i saposed to do?

You gotta make sure that no matter what program you're working with that the device you are using is selected as the input device. I'm guessing as a default windows has the soundcard your PC came with as the input ie your PC mic. You can change your PC in the control panel to have the toneport as the default recording device for all programs. Go into the control panel and then audio devices. You should be able to find it from there.

I see you got your problem solved, I'm curious as to what you think about that Toneport. I'm thinking about getting one (probably the UX2) this weekend, and I wanted to get an opinion from someone who has one.

I have one and love it, have recorded vox, guitar, line in stuff, works great, gear box is cool, and I use it with Tracktion, Mackies DAW. Very very happy with it!!
