I measured a Les Paul nut to 12th fret at 12 5/16 and nut to middle of bridge at 24 5/8.

The guitar intonates and plays well.

I always figured intonation was extra to the scale length.

Has anyone else ever noticed this on a Gibson?

(My Warmoth neck measures 12 3/8 nut to 12th fret.)

TIA

Hm... I don't own a Les Paul... so I've never really had a chance to measure one... I think it could be something to do with the way the neck sits at more of an angle in the neck pocket... rather than more flush with the body in most Strat style and other guitars... I think you might find that guitar like Schecters C-1 series... which also have compensated necks are probably similar in scale length... I figured no one had answered your question I might as well put in some feedback... I could be entirely wrong though...

Thanks.

It doesn't seem to be an issue as the LP guitar intonates well, and on the build projects I have to make sure that the bridge position works before drilling.

I was just curious.
