I envy all of you. If I wasn't such a poor college student I'd be rigt there with all you people. I'm counting the days until I get out of school and have a job and then I will be able to blow all my money. I'm like a heroin baby, I've got terrible withdraw from something I never even got to do. I have a guitar (ESP LTD MH400) and an amp, peavey valveking 112, and a cord that runs between them, that doesn't even really work well, it makes a lot of noise. I also have a metrenome and a tuner for when I change my strings.

Things I want, a new amp or two, new pickups (DiMArzio), recording equipment, I could go for a new guitar, I still need the one I have but a fixed bridge guitar would be real nice, i need a compressor, a delay could be fun for more interesting stuff, i need a mic, and interface and cords for them, software... It could probably go on for ever. So I guess what Im saying is, you could be worse off than buying too much gear.:(

I suppose I could always drop out of school... ;)

Whew, it's not just me, then. When I started this site a few months ago, I had an old Hagstrom and a couple of acoustics. I now have 7 guitars (counting the one I am finishing), 2 amps and am on my second modeling pedal.
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.

I know how that feels. Here I am, looking high and low for shops and stores that carry Minarik Firebolts. Ever since I saw it in the 2010 Guitar World Buyer's Guide, I've been obsessed with getting it, $3,200 be damned! I can just pop it open, and it lands right on that page. Pretty soon, it'll start whispering to me at night, saying "Buy me.... buy me..."

It's not an addiction; it's a nightmare... a really... sweet... pleasant nightmare... with lightning bolt cut F-holes and Tone Perfect Resonata pick ups... neck-through design and symetrically cut flaming V design... and it's beautiful in red... ooooh...

OK, so I've only got one guitar so far (that won't last long), but you're all in the minor leagues compared to a guy I work with. He has 30 (count 'em) *thirty* guitars, complete with a specially-humidified room to keep them in (we're in Phoenix, where the relative humidity runs in single digits). His favorite? A Gretsch White Falcon. Oh, and a full-blown recording studio, too.

I'll never catch up, but it'll be fun trying...

Hello Everyone,
I have 8 guitars right now, and I still want at least a dozen more. If I still had every one I ever bought, it would be close to 30. The ones I have now are not for sale though, and I'd love to add a 53, or a 54 tele. I also want a custom made thinline tele, turquoise blue, black pearl pick guard, and a maple neck.

One of these days I'll get it, and that pre CBS vintage tele too. I never thought about the humidifier, and a whole room just for my guitars. I'm in Bisbee, Arizona, about 3 1/2 hours south of mbaker824. We don't get as hot as Phoenix does, but our humidity is usually pretty low. We have the monsoon coming up out of Mexico now, thunderstorms most every day means higher humidity. This will probably go on for about another month, then we'll be lucky if it rains anymore this year.

Hi Y'all!

I just started playing my guitar again after a LONG hiatus. I've got a Vox Phanton, and I've been looking at Strats. Found one today that a guy had to sell...American version, royal blue body, gold hardware, Noiseless pickups, not a scratch on it with the hard case for $700.

I'm happy.

Yes , know where you are coming from guys . Current count is 7 axes , 2 amps and a multitude of effects pedals . When my future wife asked " why do you need so many guitars ? " , I told her they are all in different tunings ( which is true to degree ) . She is learning at the moment , so she will discover my little ruse eventually . Will probably have a case of bleeding ears when she does .
