The book was much better than the movie... A movie like that which is centered around a single plot twist tends to lose to the hype... since after people tell other people about it... it gets around and the whole movie is pretty much ruined. I liked it though... I like M. Night Shyamalans work.

The book came out just before the movie did... The book was done based on the screenplay by M. Night Shyamalan... but yeah, I read it before I went to the movie... so I knew the plot twists...

I think we would all be at an advantage if they would stop making new movies out to be SOOOOOOO SCARRY or SOOOOOOOOO FUNNY. By the time you get to see the movie you've already seen 1000 trailers of it and in the end you get let down. I usually do anyway.

I also watched red eye last night. another great movie. in the beginning you're like "is this gonna go somewhere" then in the middle you are like "did it just go somewhere?" then in the end you're like "wow, it went somewhere all right!" this was not a movie that I fell asleep while watching, like I did with the brother's grimm. it has a good way of keeping your attention and keeping the supense throughout the whole movie.

anyone else see that one?

btw, about the village, it wasn't necessarily a scary movie, but it had a good, well-thought-out plot which took me by complete surprise. I saw it in theaters only a little after it came out, so I never had people tell me the ending and ruin it for me.

I'll agree with you about the Village but man, Red Eye blew chunks!! The whole plot stunk. I just kept thinking, man I would have already made this guys phone call and ordered a beer.

The Fog was terrible as well. The Village made me think. I didn't like Red Eye all that much.

neither of you liked red eye? was it just me? was my opinion biased because I thought the main character was hot? I duuno, I still liked it. it obviously wasn't the best movie ever. but it was good.

what about flightplan? little psychological thriller for you there... that movie confused me, but it was good. one thing though, you know how when you go see a movie in the theaters, and then when it's over, people sometimes clap? yeah, that pisses me off. I hate it when people clap at movies.. it's like.. dude, if the director, or one of the actors was there, that's one thing.. but there's nobody around to hear you. so why the hell do you clap!?! yeah, when I saw flightplan, people clapped at the end.. it ruined the whole movie for me.. but either way, I thought it was pretty good, but maybe that's cause me and my friend were making fun of it the whole time.

LMFAO! I've never experienced that. I would die laughing if everyone started clapping. I have not seen flightplan but I looked at the ratings and they were the same as Red Eye so I decided not to watch it.

btw, I have, and this is 100% serious, been at a movie, and when everyone started clapping, I shouted out "SHUT THE **** UP!!! IT'S A ****ING MOVIE, THEY CAN'T HEAR YOU GODDAMMIT!!!" half the theater turned and just kinda stared at me.. so I put up both my middle fingers and walked out.. it was classic!

ha ha, sweet. but I've been on both sides of it.. I've been the one telling people to shut up, and I've been the one that people have to tell to shut up.
[quote=]in Santa Monica, which is part of the greater LA sprawl, it's a really expensive fancy pants community by the beach (just north of me, and where i work), one of the theatres has a special "mom" showing midday where they play kid movies and sappy romances, and it's specficially geared towards wealthy stay-at-home moms so that they can bring their babies and toddlers who can cry, babble, etc without disturbing other patrons. how cool is that?
I like it! every theater should have this! though, when I go to theaters I usually only go to pg-13 and R movies, so there's usually not any crying kids in there.

Holy havn't logged in for a while!

Yeah, pony roundhouses blind jerks.(we all know ponyones story is bogus too....he would never drive a camaro). That actually sounds like something maddox would write.

Ive never seen a commercial blockbuster or even a lesser know horror flick to be disturbing.People are just too sheltered nowadays. If anyone is really curious to what there mental limits are on gore....well,search it out on google(NO,not faces of death).

Even video has its limits on how far it can dust your civilized mind off.Bloody, gorey and heartless wars, invasions and attacks were common before projectiles were used to cut people down.Whens the last time an army won a battle using blunt swords and spears and then killed all the boys and pregnant woman(so to decimate the race/tribe completely).
Its probably a good thing those days are over... ...put down that sword 6strings!

I bet if you took your shoes off and did it barefoot, of course you would have to change the name to mr. barefoot, they would leave! :D
