Favorite style of music? Most skillful in your opinion?
Now I know this is an objectionable question and is soley opinion, but I would like to hear what people have to say about different styles of music, so which style of music do you think takes the most real skill to play? and why..

A little off topic, but slap bass. I've been trying to perfect it for years and just can't get it.

Its hard to tell dude, coz in every genre/type of music, you will always encounter a difficult piece. But if you practice enough, no matter how difficult it is , you will still be able to learn it and it requires dedication.
Anyway If you are reffering to the style of music that's very hard to play on the guitar. Here's my bet according to difficulty and technicality.
1) Classical - ( "Paganini's Caprices 5, 24 and 10 ) It takes years to master this.
2) Jazz / Fussion - ( Wes Montgomery, Django Reinhardt, Frank Gambale, Pat Metheny, Chet Atkins, John McLaughlin, Joe Pass, Mike Stern, Allan Holdsworth, etc. ) It requires almost perfect phrasing and technical ability to perform those mind boggling be-bop lines. If you want some technical jazz music check out those guys I listed.
3) Progressive Rock and Shred (Dream Theater, Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Angelo. ) - speed and precision is a must! Pick any Dream Theater song, and Im sure it will make some quit playing guitar especially if you are a begginer. Those guys are musical machines !!
4) Metal - ( Pantera, Megadeth, Metallica, GNR, Slayer, Black Label Society, etc .) Not really that hard IF you practice enough, and they are fun to play.
5) Blues - ( Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Johnny Winter, Ry Cooder, Roy Buchanan, etc) Not that hard to play, the main focus is on the phrasing and emotion. But blues sounds the best.
6) Alternative, Punk and Funk ( Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, GreenDay AudioSlave, Linkin Park. etc) Rhythm is the key. Kurt Cobain beats em all when it comes to power chords. :D
Guitarplaying is 1 Percent Inspiration, 99 Percent Perspiration... :)

You know, it's the weirdest thing...
I tried and tried to play slap bass for about a week and never got anywhere with it.
Then one day a few months later, I randomly tried it and was doing it fine.
I think it's largely a comfort thing -- I can play fingerstyle on almost any bass you hand me, no matter how poorly set up it is, but if I'm going to play slap, it had better have certain action and a certain neck feel and a certain string spacing.
As much as I love my Peavey Grind, the "scoop" they routed into the lower horn messes up my slapping (well, more specifically, popping) like you have no idea. Rather than playing more towards the neck like I do on all my other basses, I have to slap on that one over the pickup; otherwise I end up grossly over attacking and I hook my finger(s) under the strings.

I do ok slapping right near the bridge. Jazz is kinda hard to play. Classical definatly challenging. I dunno and truthfully it don't matter to me. I wanna learn everything from nursery rhymes to Paganini's Caprices. I got my work cut out for me. Mary Had a Little lamb is a bitch. :D

 I'm just starting out so I can't say what's most skillfull or difficult, cause it's all a little difficult to me right now, rythm is no problem, it's the soloing and all that I struggle with....favorite SRV, EC, Skynyrd, I really like classic rock and blues, also like metallica....guess you could just call me an 80's man.
