I think you get what you pay for..

why exactly do you need a stack? for playing medium to large gigs? if so, then I'm sure you'll want a better quality then that amp.. and if not... then why on earth do you need an amp that big? I've got a 40W tube amp that is a 1x12" combo and can easily fill up moderate sized rooms.. it could definately keep up with a drummer, and could easily fulfill the needs of small to medium sized gigs.. while still able to play at lower volumes when needed.

there's my opinion.

Dont you already have a decent amp? If you do, hold out for something alot better. If you don't, buy something line-6, or a low price vox, for the money line6 has good quality products.

Im not sure wot amp i want now im sort of stuck. My band has been practacing for about two months and we have some of our own material. We got a gig through another band that one of my friends is in and I only have a marshall 15 watt combo. No, i don't necesseraly want a stack amp and i don't think i want a tube amp. So, anyone got advice for a cheap(ish) good quality solid state? my budget is oly about £300 (UK)

well, it kinda depends on your musical needs.. I say if you like the sound you've already got, then why not a 50 or 100 watt marshall MG.. if not, and you need great clean sounds, then how about a fender fm212r? (warning though, it's INSANELY loud! :p) and if you need good distorted sounds, then why not like a randall RG75?

I think you'll be surprised that there is a big jump in volume from a 15W amp to a 50W amp.. even if they are both just combos.. trust me, I was using a 15W amp for gigging for a few weeks.. and it sucked.. so I went out to try and buy the loudest thing I could afford (fender fm212R), and it ended up being too loud! now I either use my 30W line 6 spider II (solid state), or my 40W peavey XXX (tube) for gigging, and they both have a good volume, the peavey just has alot more headroom and can get even louder then my fender could have, I just don't put it that loud for gigging.. with a solid state though, turning them down won't really work, since there is barely any volume when the knob is at 1, and then about 90% of it's maximum volume when the knob is turned to 2...

I have a Vox AD30vt and I love it... wasn't too horribly priced... around 300 bucks if I remember right, and the sound is great... plus has all kinds of neat effects built in, and about 11 different amps built into it, as well as effects... and you can program, just about any combo into it.. from clean to just the absolute most nastiest distorion sounds you want.

This is called a valve reactor power amp, and is a tube/ analog, with some digital stuff mixed in, and can be had from ad15vt=23w all the way to the ad100vt @ 100 watts...

Hope this helps...:)

take your guitar down to your guitar shop and try out all the amps they have in your price range and see which you like best or if you really like the amp you have just buy the same model with more watts, if its a mg series have a look at the 30 watt one i think its open backed and will sound better than the rest of the series which are closed backed

Behringer gear generally sucks, very low quality build, loads of hums and clicks etc. As with what everyone else said, wait until you can get what you want. I would seriously recommend a Marshall 100DFX off Ebay. I got one, very reasonable price, very loud (100 Watts!), nice inbuilt effects, unmistakable Marshall sound, beautiful lead tone. Check em out!
