Hey guys, im bells&whistles aka Tom. I'm from England and im a drummer at the moment. I have been for about 3 years now. I'm planning on starting the guitar soon and probably teaching myself.

Yeah, I wanted to play drums 1st myself way back when (being inspired by John Bonham, Neil Peart and the like), but they're just too damn expensive (comparitively). Besides...guitar kinda runs in the family. Welcome though!

Well i've found quite a cheap 'deluxe starter kit' at a specialist shop near me with an Aria STG 004, amp, gig bag, tuner, lead etc. Everything needed. I've looked around and there are good reviews for that type of guitar so i thought i'd go for it :D

Luckily i'm still with the parents and am only at secondary school so i shove the drums in my room with still a lot of space for everything else :D

Arias are fairly common in the UK and EU, but rarer in the US; they are great guitars for the cost.
i'd love to play drums but sadly... well... i've lived in apartments for most of my life and don't have a garage, which is a wee tad prohibitive.
I feel your pain.. I wish I could play drums, but my parents already complain about me plaing my guitar too loud when I'm not playing near loud enough to keep up with a drummer..
you should look into an electronic drumset with a pair of headphones.. I would, but they are pretty darn expensive... I think that with an electronic drumset, you could record it without the use of mics.. which could be a plus, making recordings alot more original, rather then using like a drum machine or whatever.

Well i dont stop tapping/drumming ever. Maybe it's the whole rhythme and beat thing :D
Play drums for a month or so and you don't stop tapping tables, chairs, computers...people etc :D
Looked in the shop today, they have it and seem to know what they are doing, gonna buy it tomorrow morning just deciding what colour - a dilemma!

I'm actually a participant in a drummer forum too. Though I don't play drums and I don't plan on doing so any time soon.

Actually... I am a guitar. I just keep a human around the house to polish me up, change my strings and give me a good shred job from time to time.
