I had to work an 8-hour shift on friday, and today, and then I have another one tomorrow, and then again on monday, and then again on tuesday, then I squeeze out a 5-hour shift on wednesday, before finally getting a day off. 6 days in a row, and 5 of them are full-shifts.. I think I might strangle one or two customers before the end of it.
oh yeah and a few weeks ago, my manager comes over and is all like "you wanna work christmas day?" and so I ask him "that's like triple time right?" and he says "yeah, it should be" and so I agree to work it, only because it's triple time, and I really could use getting paid for 24 hours when I only work 8... well, I just finally got my paycheck for that week just a few days ago.. and I only got paid a fricken $1/hour extra! I was/am so pissed!

I don't really have anything to bitch about. I go to work and enjoy myself and I come home, play video games, guitar, movies, macgyver and I enjoy myself. For where I am in my life I can't complain. Of course problems come along, but they're never really able to out weigh anything I've really got going. So there's that. While you're all struggling and getting by, I'm having a blast.

technically I was supposed to join a union within my first 60 days of work.. and now I've been there for 4 months.. but none of my managers know that.. I think it's because I never turned in a work permit (because I had graduated high school, I didn't need one) but the union never contacted me. plus, that's just more of your paycheck that you'll never be able to see... maybe if this was some glamourous job where you got paid well, and was an easy job. but since this is a just barely over minimum wage, not very pleasant job to do, I don't think it's worth it.
