okay all i can think of is its like... pokey?
you dont hold the notes out at all. as soon as the note is sounded, its taken away.

a stacatto is like when you play a note and immediately after you hear a sound, mute it. the note you play isnt supposed to float on, it should stop sounding the moment it starts.

I think staccato was Italian for abrupt. So yeah its a note thats muted pretty quickly after playing it. It's easier to give an audio example...unfortunately i dont have one.

A stacatto is a note played with absolutely NO SUSTAIN - play jst one 32nd note .... That should sound like a stacatto...!!!
